I still have the first Zhiyun Crane. Got it when it first came out. I definitely got my money worth. Lately, I have been pulling focus manually by hand with the GH5, while using it in motion. It gets the job done, however, this setup looks promising. Thanks for the video.

Yeah, and i'm not sure if you've heard of mass drop, but you can usually find the crane for a great discount on there. Its a group buy type of thing, you should defiantly do a google search on that. Thanks for coming by!

Don´t you loose balance with the gimbal while focusing? (Because you move the lense back&forth)

Some lenses the weight can move while zooming, but while focusing there is very little change in center of gravity.

I have had problems with the servo, it doesn't really get grip with the gear ring you put on the camera! have you had similar issues?

Hi! It's probably a really stupid question but: can you use completely manual lenses (manual aperture and focus) with the follow focus? I have a voigtländer 25mm for my gh5 and I'm a little confused atm if I can use the follow focus or not haha

When the folow focus unit ist connected how can i connect my camera to the gimbal because the port on the motor is blocked by the cable from the focus. Is the start stop button than useless? Thank youn for an answer. Btw nice video br Dirk

Mine is still not working! I got a very weird problem. As soon as I turn my camera (SonyA7Rii) on it starts taking pictures non stop when connected to the Zhiyun Servo Follow Focus. As soon as disconnected with the Zhiyun Servo Follow Focus it stops taking pictures. WTF is this?! Does anybody know why this is happening? Thankful for any advice.

same problem for me. firmware 1.73, all cables connected, no response of the FF module. what is the upgrade switch on the FF for? can't find any firmware for just the CMF-01 though...

The commercial shoot looks really good, surprisingly no jitter or bumps in the footage. Did you stabilize the footage in the edit? Also: when I finished watching I assumed you would have more subs and views. You deserve more man, keep it up!

Thanks!, I sometimes will add some stabilizing in post, but it must be very little or you'll get that warping effect that is so terrible. Getting the shot as stable as possible on the day of shooting is very important. As far as subscribers goes, I've only uploaded 3 videos on this channel so far, and I'm swamped on more commercial shoots right now, but there will be more on the way ;)

use a micro usb cable, the same one like you use to charge your crane batteries, plug that into the follow focus unit.

How long does the battery last in the follow focus?

It is charged by the main batteries. No separate charging required.

Mine, after a few months of use, takes only at most 4 hours of use before it shuts down without notice. When it was new, I also thought you need not charge it separately but this happened. And it takes a while before you can charge it again separately. I don't know why that happens. You can't charge it right away after it shuts down as well. And there is no specific time on when you can start charging it - you just have to keep on plugging/testing it on a wall charger and see if it will charge already or not.

its a process even without the follow focus because you'll likely need to adjust the balance of the gimbal, the follow focus does add a few steps. I wouldn't say its hard, but its a few more steps.
