Yes, its working. Using the USB-C Cable, On the Camera set USB-Connection to "PC Remote". And Change the Weebill to Canon Camera. Weebill S - Firmware 1.95 Sony A7III - Firmware 3.10

Hey man thanks for that. Although, that +- setting is not white balance, it's exposure compensation. Which is used when you use auto ISO and you can add or remove stops of light.

ATTENTION Sony A7R3 Users! I tried the method, it works only if you change the gimbal setting "Camera" > to "Panasonic" then I was able to manipulate all the settings: ISO, Aperture, WB, and Shutter. These settings were not adjustable when I had the camera set as "Sony". I hope this gets fixed but I am just happy it works.

ow my goddddd!!! got one second hand with new batteries, the charger but none of the other extra cables. but an OTG cable and the original sony micro usb cable make one micro to micro cable. found this vid AND now i can controll record as well as seeing settings. this vid is a life saver.

Hey guys, just tried this with my Sony alpha7ii it worked perfectly when I said it to the PC remote and then use Panasonic under the settings. Then you can switch through your iso aperture and shutter speed by clicking right or left created. This video came in clutch.

Yo today you saved my life. I just got a Weebill S and I was about to shoot myself because I just couldn't get it set up at all. I couldn't even get my camera on the gimbal, I am so not a mechanical kind of minded person. I looked at a bunch of videos trying to help, but they were terrible. Yours was perfect. In june 2021 on a Sony a6400 - upgraded the camera and upgraded the Zhiyun Weebill S and still had to change the cable and the camera settings to panasonic in order to make it work... But first I had to set USB settings to PC remote AND TURN OFF THE USB POWERING in the same menu (Briefcase page 4/7 ). Took sometime to figure this last step out. And if you cant change the usb setting in the first place because its greyed out, you have to turn off the smartphone control setting first (Globe page 1/2). Learned that one on reddit. Puh. But it finally worked. A bit lagging and buggy at times though with the menu not keeping up when you changing the aperture and iso for instance. But still a big step up from not having it. Especially being able to hit record on the go :) Which was the main thing for me. Had been a bit bummer to buy the Weebill S because of all the recommendations on using it with the Sony a6400 and not being able to use these functions on the handle. So thanks a lot TreeTanksDev!!! And that other guy helping him out in the first place

Thanks for the great tutorial. I got it working with the a6500 by setting it to sony usb a73 or Panasonic. The only challenge I have now is that the the video feed goes black in the external monitor. The signal is working fine and I can see the camera ui but the video feed is black. Have you encountered this issue? Thanks!

The Multi cable works just the same, so long as you don't select Sony. I use the Canon option. Crazy this still isn't fixed on Firmware V2.02 in Jan 2021...!

Aperture dial on the 85GM must be set to "A" I can see at 1:57 that you have it locked at fixed aperture.

Hey - for the sony 85mm GM, you wont be able to change aperture from camera either, if on the lens its set to a specific aperture other than "auto". on the lens, change it to auto and all will work.

I noticed, when using micro usb to micro usb cable. Sony A7III works as you described. But you cannot switch to playback mode anymore. This is very annoying that you cannot check what you just shoot unless you unplug the cable. Is there any way to walk around it?

Yeah some other users have mentioned these kind of limitations as well. I have bought a splitter so that usb-c and mcc can be used at the same time but i need to borrow the a7iii again. Will update when ive tried it out.

this is the exposure compensation, its the hard wheel at the top right of the camera, you can't change it

This tip is well known by sony community since the weebill lap releases! For your apeture issue, make sure that your 85F14GM aperature switch is well set to A instead of 1,4 which is manual control ...just saying! Other question, don't you have delay when switching on your A7iii before being able to control the camera? If so you should be mentioning this because this is the most annoying cons while settting up the camera in PC remote

Thanks for that! I've got my Weebill S yesterday and have tested it now with my a6300, and it works. However, when in movie mode, I can not change the aperture or shutter speed, as they are automatically set in the camera. If I have the camera set in one of the photography modes (manual, aperture priority or shutter priority), I am able to change these settings.

@@DanielRomeros I found a way to make this work without the flaky servo motor!!!! Use the multi-cable, then the zoom adjustable via the menu wheel below POV button - NOT the focus wheel. Press menu wheel at left and right arrows to zoom in and out.

Thanks! Works perfectly with the Tamron 17-28 f2.8 lens... But, using the USB-C port on the Sony A7iii and setting it to PC Remote makes any connected HDMI monitor (e.g. Atomos Shinobi/Ninja) stop working and no image is displayed on it :( Hope they sort out this conflict!

@@TreeTanksDev i doubt they will fix it. It is like the a7c which only has usb-c. I think it is a question of priority. They allow 100% of the processor for usb management so there is no bandwidth for the hdmi. This is a Sony issue confirmed by zhiyun and Dji in some customer complaints. I don’t see Sony fixing that soon as it require rethinking completely the bandwidth management. Bad design. I have a7c i like it and have no use of hdmi simultaneously with usb-c but for these gimbal (it is identical for rsc2 ronin with a7c) it is impossible to use image transmission with hdmi and control a gimbal. Bad design they have remove the multi connector on a7c which apparently have different bandwidth management. This is why it os better to use multi connector instead of usb-c. In fact you can but by using some tricks like connecting waiting the black screen , put gimbal in sleep then reconnecting the cable later and start again the gimbal or something like that which counter the bandwidth management. I have seen someone describing the process on a video. But you have to do it each and every time you connect the gimbal because it is only a tricks. Usb-c and sony are not exactly 100% functional i think. They have some work to do. Zhiyun and dji cannot do anything. It is Sony issue.

Sony a6400 users: this works for me but make sure you select "Canon" instead of Sony as your camera on purpose. Then turn both off, then turn the gimbal on first followed by the camera itself. The order matters for mine.

Nice hack, for sony a7III users, when the camera is in PC remote you can not record on both SD cards at the same time. That mean I can't use this hack because I really need that redundancy. Great hack though. Thank you for shearing.

The only caveat to this (and I checked - it's a silly limitation of Sony Cameras) - an external monitor will go black when using this setup. (It's due to the camera going into PC remote mode when it detects the gimbal talking it to it).

Did you go under your Sony camera settings under the Briefcase icon and change the USB connection to PC Remote? And also Remote Ctrl option to On. Then once plugged in using the Micro usb to micro usb cable, go under the Weebill-S settings and select Panasonic.

Great hack.....BUT.. I was really stoked to find your hack to allow us to change shutter speed, etc. I have an A7r III & IV and it works on both of them. My problem came when I connected my SmllHd Focus and my Atomos Ninja V and discovered both external monitors had no image. They both work fine with the recommended setup, but no camera image using the hack. When things like this happen, I think of Franklin’s, which quite simply states the “Murphy was an optimist”. Any further hacks would be welcome.
