I have a theory. A chapter in the Saitama vs. Garou arc was retconned before. The old chapter ended with Saitama and Garou sitting in a destroyed cabin? But when it was retconned, God suddenly appeared and influenced Garou. Now a few chapters before, we were given the Flashy Flash and Speed o Sound Sonic vs. the ninja village fight but now it has been retconned. Now the retconned version, God suddenly appears again and influences Flashy Flash. See where I'm going with this? Now my theory is, what if it was God behind it all? Every time something was retconned? It wants to change the story so it could appear and influence someone to let it give its power to that someone? But this could also mean that God is the creator of the One Punch Man Universe or the literal author himself, changing the story. So I guess I have three theories? XD 1. God is behind all of the retcons 2. God is the creator of the One Punch Man Universe 3. God is literally the author himself

Thank god I wasn't the only one thinking of this, Maybe these theories can play a big part in unlocking god and saitama's true power, My personal theory is that Saitama: "Impossibility" breaking his limiter, The impossible measurement of his strength, And simply his impact on the story God: "Possibility" As you've said he might have the power to retcon chapters, Maybe god is testing different possibilities with reasons we still don't know. Ik it’s a headcanon, but I like to think that all the retcons are smth god is doing because the situation didn’t turn out how he wants it to, and one time they will rewind time but saitama will realise and that’ll be the setup for the final battle. people refer the Garou who fought flashy flash and Platinum ("weird bald guy") as Monster Garou. The main Garou with the "cool black monster shell' is very slick. Awakened Garou is simply he is awake and not randomly thrashing like his sleeping self, Sonic didn't fought demon level threat monster that much, yet he escaped flashy flash and genos after the three complement Saitama(while the shinobi ninja Speed O' sound sonic crashed into the concrete and made a near perfect silhouette of himself, and still spoke and escaped without context) for a well response about teacher, disciple or rival specifically.

What if these rewrites were never supposed to be credited to the actual writer but to "god" in the manga.... Maybe "god" doesn't like how things are going or knows what the timeline would lead to, so he changes it, but the whole time, we, as the readers, assume they were rewrites

What if they aren't retcons, what if gods actually going back in time as he exists outside of it and is trying to make plays by affecting the past, so we see how strong saitama is when he wrecks garou but now when we get to that point saitama will be even more powerful, essentially the warning baba yaga gave would become true because essentially God could reach back in time during the boros fight and cube him up during his fight with saitama essentially causing the death of everything
