I feel like I’ve died and gone to heaven finding this recipe - your channel is by far the best for cooking Chinese takeaway food - spent my whole Saturday ironing and watching back to back videos of Chim & Choo cooking - I feel a wee shopping spree coming on 🤪

This is the cutest and best duo ever. I really like it. So entertaining, natural, easy to watch and makes me love the moments I have with my lil son even more. We have these moments and its so fun. This relationship is so beautiful to watch.

I just wanted to say I really enjoy your channel. I don't think I've ever eaten so much chow mein and fried rice since watching your videos on it and you're absolutely right that the MSG makes all the difference. As for this one, I'm not a fan of seaweed but the missus and kids love it so I'll have a go at this one too. I run a little youtube channel myself and I've had the same issue with people making unhelpful comments, which seems to be purely for the sake of it. I used to engage with those comments but I don't any more - it's just not worth it. People commenting on your tattoos is absurd and you're absolutely right to dismiss them. I would never get a tattoo myself, but if other people want to get tattoos, then that's no-one's business but theirs and, as you said, if people don't like it, they're more than welcome to simply not watch. I think you and your mum are lovely people and I really enjoy your videos. Your energy and presentation style are refreshing, and you explain things very well which makes it easy for us folks at home to recreate what you're showing us.

Thank you so much for your kind words. I used to have seaweed but recently I've started to enjoy. Yes some people are just there to make your life hard, but tgat the nature of social media, I just wanted to say my part and that will be the last I say anything on it:) Me and mum love making these videos and I feel that shows and we can't believe that people have warmed to our odd way of doing things lol thank you again :)

@@annother3350 MSG full name Monosodium Glutamate. Found in tomatoes, celery, cheese, stock cubes, gavy, among others is a natural substance made from sodium and glutamic acid. Sodium as you hopefully know is the same as the sodium in salt that you no doubt use. Glutamic acid is used as the building blocks of protein and is made in abundance by your own body. So what part of this is made in a lab I ask? Stop reading articles of fear and use your own intelligence to work things out. If you ever have kids are you going to bring them up to be scared of everything you are because you can't be bothered to learn anything different?

@@googlesucks925 No, I will bring my children up eating food as close to nature as possible,. Celery, cheese and stock cubes dont make my body feel weird and leave a metallic taste in my mouth for hours. I'm not reading articles, I use gut instinct and it's never wrong, MSG doesnt feel natural so I will avoid it at all costs

Brilliant video, learned something new yet again thanks Chin and Choo!! Love your videos and would not miss the hilarious comedy between you and your mum for the world. Spent the whole day prepping, marinated beef, pork, and chicken also made another batch of the Chinese pork had the extractor on full blast sending the msg vibe across the town!!! You have changed the way we cook in so many ways and we really appreciate the time you both put into the channel.

Made the crispy seaweed today Was awesome. I tried my favourite the chicken with bamboo and water chestnuts the other day but it came out more watery than thick. Going to watch some more videos. The book along side youtube has been a massive help. I suffered a stroke a month ago and lost all interest in anything until tik tock and you popped up on fyp. Literally gave me my mojo to keep going and cook new foods. I'm just a hobbyist cook. Thank you. Hoping to pop over and try one of your workshops

I'm writing one, but it's not easy, been writing it for 6 months only 1/5 of the way through, running a takeaway is 14 hours a day 6 days a week so time is short

I always wondered what the pink powder stuff on the top was. I think seaweed is great, a really clever takeaway invention. I also love actual seaweed like combo, nori and wakame. Obsessed with the seaweed salad you can get in yosushi too.

Hi there,, my son just cooked some cabbage leafs the outside ones and I loved it so now he's doing some more as I'm typing to you,, I asked him to spice it up a bit,, as the fist time he tryed it it was just normal with salt ,, surprising just how tasty the humble cabbage is,, as I'm cooking the traditional bacon cabbage and potato dinner today there is plenty of cabbage left for him to experiment with .. your mother is such a lovely lady,,, will be sure to watch m more of your videos Thank you so much.🥬liked subscribed and shared.

@@ZiangsFoodWorkshop most definitely mum is the best,, unfortunately I lost my mother last year. R.I.P ....She taught me a lot about cooking,, and one resipie was her special sweet n sour pork or chicken it was a very tasty chunky sauce,, it had pineapple mandarin oranges and peaches, normaly it might just be pineapple onions and carrots from take outs,, but everyone loves my sweet and sour pork, its a great feeling knowing my family love it,and No Disrespect to you or other Chinese people I respect your culture,, but my family prefer it to take out sweet and sour,,, well Mr Gorden ramsay is all for fresh cooked meals lol I normaly serve my mums sweet n sour pork on either brown or white basmati rice, as the grains stay lovely and fluffy and separate. Any time at all,, if you would like my mum's resipie I would be very glad to type it out for you. Its so full of flavour.and so satisfying. Let me know if you would like to try this resipie. You have spoken about your grandfather a few times and it would be great to hear a bit more about the experiences of your grandfather and his generation. What did they think of British people and their palates? How did the distinctive British style of Chinese food develop? How do these dishes relate to the dishes back in China?

@@ZiangsFoodWorkshop Before I went to have it done, I spoke to a lot of people who told me it was excruciating. One chap told me it almost made him throw up and pass out. I built up the courage and decided I'd just have to have it done in stages if I couldn't cope. I kid you not...I dozed off! It really wasn't that bad. It hurt when she went up to my collar bones but that was still managable. I think my calf piece has been the worst in terms of pain. Are you planning more? Also, your mum was correct. Not 70 decades. 😂😂😂 700 years?! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Enjoy the simplicity of your methods, I knew how to do this anyway & what the ground fish topping was but watched the banter regardless. I wasn't aware the centre part greens didnt crisp as much I have to admit so thanks for that tip. I will say unless you done it on the sly your supposed to wash greens & squeeze them out before use. I've seen many Chinese blanch in hot water for 30 secs then run under cold water and pat dry and then fry. Keep up the good dishes, kung po beef proper is one id like to see ;)

Just wanted to say how much I love your videos. My children including autistic spectrum son, absolutely love the recipes. Proper yummy takeaway style egg fried rice and chow mein are now family favourites. Money is tight and your food is an absolute joy. Thank you both so much.

Glad I’ve found this channel. You gotta do extras/starters such as stir fried bean sprouts, stir fried mushroom and garlic, salt and pepper chicken wings/spare ribs (or spare ribs in Ok sauce). Keep up the great vids.

I made this and exactly like takeaway! I managed to find the right greens as well! But they were out of fish powder. So i used brown sugar and still really nice.
