One can also fish for random Cornish courtiers(pre Anglo hybridization) and get them to educate your successors and then use steward culture convert once you get all the way down,if it really matters to you for sentiment.

Another tip for Francis, find a Cornish rando with the character finder, sort by a stat/personality you'd really like your firstborn son to have, and have that rando raise them Cornish. That way, you can get rid of that Ai-nglo influence from your land in that next lifetime

It's only de jure pat of Cornwall if the player owns the duchy of Hwicce prior to the action "Restore the kingdom of Cornwall". Otherwise you have to integrate the title afterwards as it will stay as a duchy of England.

As several people have pointed out, matrilineal marriage was not necessary to execute the plan. As long as your child is of your dynasty (does not need to be your house, just your dynasty), you can play as them. But being the dominant part of the marriage has some minor advantages. If your spouse rules a different realm, the children will be at your court. So in order to give them proper education, find good marriage partners etc. it was beneficial to marry matrilineally. You did not need to target a younger son for this. In your own dynasty there is no penalty for matrilineal marriage. Instead of betrothing the daughter to the fourth son I would have targeted the firstborn's wife and then betrothed the daughter to the first son. It is still useful to get rid of the other sons and their heirs to prevent the inheritance from fracturing, but being married to the firstborn would have made everything more relaxed. Also I think I would have tried to speed everything up after the daughter had an heir to both thrones. Get rid of the cornish kings and accumulate lots of stress, so you can quickly play as the heir and don't leave that beautiful cornish kingdom in the hands of the AI for too long. But I liked that you changed it up and went for an intrigue-heavy playstyle this time!

I had a game with a Norse Asatru Jarl with 1 county married my many daughters everywhere that I didnt even noticed that I was either 1st or 2nd in line inherit the High Chiefdom of Denmark, Sweden, and the Chiefdom of Prussia, but then the plague came killed most of my dinasty lost everything plus the heir to my dynasty I was literally left with 1 barren 65yo women from my dinasty (I hate you brunhild) 60+ members to 1, Ah yes, the crusader kings experience.

I feel like there was a missed opportunity to preserve Cornish culture in the form of recruiting a guardian for the intended heir via character finder. Of course, it wasn't obvious that the hybrid-culture would absorb the last Cornish province, but there was a risk once it formed. Controlling the cultural education of the heir would have been a nice fallback/mitigation strategy. (Not leveling it as criticism, but mentioning it as something to keep in mind for anyone facing a similar situation.)

I made the same exact mistake last week. I immediately tried to switch but was on iron man. Keeping it paused I began to panic. Luckily I forced shutdown on my pc and loaded back to just before the crusade was won.

Pro tip if you are playing a just character: Just characters can lose stress basically for free if they disclose other characters' dirty secrets instead of using them for blackmail, so if you have your spymaster find secrets in a big foreign court and make sure that you always have some secrets in reserve that you can disclose when you need to lose stress, you can get away with doing all the naughty stuff just characters shouldn't do ;-). Makes the just trait equally powerful or arguably for Christian characters even more powerful than sadistic, because with the right preparation you can lose unlimited stress whenever you need it, without having the drawback of being regarded as sinful.

One other idea is to have the crusader king die with no heirs, resulting in the family in Kingdom of Cornwall to inherit since you will continue the game if anyone in your dynasty inherits you. Sidenote: You didn't need a matrilineal marriage with your own dynasty

The crusader king already had the daughter at the time of file transfer. At first I was going to suggest switching to Male-Only gender laws, so that it swings back into the lap of whomever is the king of Cornwall. Then I double-checked, and the crusader king has brothers who would inherit well before it ended up back in the lap of the uncle (Cornish king)'s branch of the family. Luckily, it seems that Tanistry Elective is the way to go. Cornish, being a Brythonic culture group, has access to that Succession option. It would allow him to elect from amongst his vassals and any members of his dynasty. I don't know if Republic vassals are allowed to vote, but I am positive that the crusader king would have had more votes anyway, allowing him to just declare his cousin (first heir to the Kingdom of Cornwall) as his heir as well. Either way, the best tool Zieley had access to was already having the Restraint perk for avoiding a succession crisis.

Challenge- Have the best Empire; highest development, most troops, most religious sites, best royal court, et cetera. Stipulations: 1) Start with one unpretentious barony. 2) No more than one barony per county. 3) All baronies must be in multi-barony counties. 4) No barony (in different counties) may be geographically adjacent. I think you can do it.

Oh yea, pressing the wrong button in ironman mode is devastating. That's how I once gave away my head of faith title right after I reformed my religion to hold it... Vicky 3 is such a great game if you like playing tall in CK3 or prefer managing the economy over going to war, it's basically the same sort of thing except much better economy simulation and you can trade with other nations. Once you get over the desire to enact more egalitarian laws and upset the church and landowners in the process, and start treating monarchy as the same necessary evil it is in CK3, it's really fun.

@@katanah3195 yeah I have about 50-60 hours on it now and I have only played Sweden trying to learn it. I’m getting pretty decent at it now. (Im sure im still awful) I started another attempt at Sweden today actually and got 8mil gdp by 1850 which I was happy with! The issue with this run is I needed more university for research speed for malaria prevention so I can acquire more coal mines near South Africa. But I’m going to continue this run cuz I unlocked malaria prevention like 5 mins before typing this comment. So not all hope is lost. Just gotta build those coal mines so I can build more steel ! Just like a 7 year delay cuz slow research

I found the murder scheme to be kind of bugged. It feels like the success chance is a lot lower than what it shows and if its not 95/95 they seem to at least find out it was me a lot of times. I looked it up and it seems like a lot of people have the same feeling. I don't know if its just really bad luck but now i tend to avoid murder schemes as much as possible.
