Jamaicans are famous for dropping the 'h' on many words (such as ting instead of thing), so we've shown this in some of the lyrics towards the latter part of the song. Also, in regards to this song, some jamaican dialects appear, most notably at the beginning: 'deyah' meaning here, or there. Futcha meaning future, nah meaning not, no, won't; and yuh/yah meaning you, you're or your.
We were debating whether to do the song entirely with the Jamaican patois or just plain old English, but in the end decided to do both. Thank-you.
David "Ziggy" Marley (born 17 October 1968, Trenchtown, Jamaica) is a Jamaican musician and leader of the band Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers. He is the oldest son of famed reggae musician Bob Marley. His father gave him the nickname "Ziggy" due to the soccer move of the same name, and it is a nickname for "a small joint".
Conscious Party is Ziggy Marley & The Melody Makers' third album. It was released in 1988. This album became popular with the hits "Tumblin' Down" and "Tomorrow People". It won the Grammy Award for Best Reggae album in 1989.
In 2009, "Tomorrow People" was voted the 85th greatest one-hit wonder of the 80s by Vh1.

You know a song is that good when many people assume that this is sung by Bob Marley himself. 😊

Was chilling with my dad one evening and this song came on the radio, he said, "I dedicate this song to you and your fiance, the tomorrow people." Now, the song holds an even more special place in my heart. 🤎🤎

Always loved this song it takes me back to a very sad time in my life at 13 and a half. I hear parts of this song and it brings back all those empty and feelings and the pain as if I was right there again. A beautiful but sad song for me .
