The documentary is a true reflection, a glimpse of what happened in our province Manicaland, some of the atrocities were never documented, thumbs up to the author. I was fortunate to leave Chiadzwa Diamond fields just in time (2 days before the massacre). I thank God for the revelation to leave before the situation worsened. We know about the mass graves, a dog called " Bruno" that used to mull maGweja (diamond panners), a Senior Police Commissioner from Mutare nicknamed "Dispol Gore" who used to order killings in the fields. We could echo Gweja nyumwawo from the surrounding mountains warning others to stay away from the Diamond fields, signaling panners have been killed on that particular day in the fields so don't go near, it's dangerous. The outgoing Mines Minister O. Mpofu must be dragged to courts to give an account of the mass shootings. Most of the people killed were from far away places such as Byo, Shurugwi and Mt. Darwin as these panners did not have adequate transport money, walking long distances back home was impossible.

Wow it seemed good in the begining when the people were able to go mine for diamonds for themselves. To bad that changed. Those diamonds should have helped all Zimbob people but it doesnt seem like that is the case.

it was only good while the white people were in control of the country, when black majority rule took over the country became bankrupt, i can see u dont live in Rhodesia, its same in South Africa, before 1994 it was safe living their, as soon as black people took over the country now is an unsafe place to visit or stay in

Propoganda to get support for military action to enforce economical policy of other countries....the brits\south africans want the diamonds to go to white people
@shanetonkin28504 жыл бұрын
You guys are retards. ‘The brits’ couldn’t care less about fucking Zimbabwean diamonds, but since you mentioned the British, perhaps you should look up how much aid money Britain donates to Zimbabwe every year - in 2018 it was nearly £120 million, and they have been doing this every year for decades. As for the first idiots comment about “exposing” the international mining companies, clearly you don’t really understand how this works. International mining companies pay enormous amounts of money for the right to mine there, then they pay a royalty on every piece of stone the mine, which the Zimbabwean government then uses to pay for things like schools and healthcare, allowing all of the people of Zimbabwe to benefit from their mineral wealth, rather than just the handful lucky enough to live right next to the mines.

The white south Africans think it belongs to them, that why they have it ALL
@elizabethjackson26514 жыл бұрын
Shane, why don't you look up the 20,000 tons of gold, blood diamonds, silver, 87% of land, the genocide of 90% of the population, destruction of the countryside , the emptying of Zimbabwe treasures, collecting all their tax money from the country when the British took over the government, then we can talk facts. The British were extremely poor plagued peasants using the bathroom by digging holes in corner of their own huts or caves before invading Africa, USA and Australia...

What the British government give the south Africa every year for their empire is .0001% of the wealth taken from AFRICA (wealthiest country in the world) Africa feeds the world for FREE!!!

If the British company mined the diamonds what benefits would we be talking about? Any value addition to improve lives of people of Zim or even sell from there as opposed to under valuing diamonds, selling them in Europe
@eisbeinGermany Жыл бұрын
The only benefit are == is that the British owners staying in Britain benefitted from it, whole of Africa is like that, it is same in South Africa with the gold, it gets mined and then gets exported to Europe, then it is refined in Europe and Dubai and then gets exported back to South Africa in like as 3 times or even more the value or price for what it was mined in SA in Jewellery and other items, the workers who work in the mines receive a small salary to mine the gold copper diamonds while the owners of the mines live a life fit for a king

ReWrite the Contracts,,,, Cut down drastically on the terms - Cut the lease time, Cut the area of The Corporations operation - Plot Size,,, Increase tax rates on Corporations per Unit,,,, Raise daily wages for local workers in Mines everywhere,,,, If they won't pay more taxes ,,, seek New Companies to participate.. And phase them out... Use Average prices for commodities Pricing on the markets for 2 -3 years and update pricing on a regular basis - Keep unit Pricing at adjustable rates... Have Attorneys review each clause in the Contracts and make regular adjustments to Clauses based on Market fluctuation/Demand - benefit in the good times and charge lower rates in bad times... AFRICANS MUST BENEFIT FROM THEIR RESOURCES - The Benefits Must Reach THE POOR at Every Level... Leaders Must manage the Nation's Business and not just their own selfish endeavors... Nationals Must restrict the Number of Years leaders Can Lead... By limiting Them,,, Forty YEARS IS WAY TOO LONG... Check Leaders Investments through disclosure Requirement after every 2 -3 years... Make Rules/ Terms on Who Can Be a President - Not just anyone... Deny Mzungo... Wake UP Africa....
