Because the moneys going to the government members and little is going to the actual people. Theirs no work cause the government and other big world companies keep anyone from developing their own people’s lives and jobs. The money goes to the select elite. Some of this people have multiple supercars and hotels both in country and around the world. Even aid ends up in shops and or in some people's personal stock rooms. In some cases it's not even worth donating as you'd be adding to the wealth of those already heavily with.

The world Dimond exchange controls world markets, the number of stones released for purchase each year, the color of the stones released, they even control the quality of the stones avail for purchase...the world market hasn't seen diamonds better than j grade released since before the 1900's began! Vintage diamonds are far better quality than you find today, and if, by some strange chance you do find a high quality stone its more than likely smuggled out for purchase znd untouched by the WDE.

Huveto Khamo - Actually that is true, companies like ‘de beers’ have been exposed doing this for years. They buy up any diamond they can get that is below perceived market value... Then they can put the amount and quality of diamond they choose on the market. Usually a little less than the supply demands, so prices go up.

The documentary is a true reflection, a glimpse of what happened in our province Manicaland, some of the atrocities were never documented, thumbs up to the author. I was fortunate to leave Chiadzwa Diamond fields just in time (2 days before the massacre). I thank God for the revelation to leave before the situation worsened. We know about the mass graves, a dog called " Bruno" that used to mull maGweja (diamond panners), a Senior Police Commissioner from Mutare nicknamed "Dispol Gore" who used to order killings in the fields. We could echo Gweja nyumwawo from the surrounding mountains warning others to stay away from the Diamond fields, signaling panners have been killed on that particular day in the fields so don't go near, it's dangerous. The outgoing Mines Minister O. Mpofu must be dragged to courts to give an account of the mass shootings. Most of the people killed were from far away places such as Byo, Shurugwi and Mt. Darwin as these panners did not have adequate transport money, walking long distances back home was impossible.

I'm Australian. I am not at all surprised by our involvement. It's merely part of our long and sordid history. It is our pattern. Our government and companies are heavily involved in stealing and exploitation in numerous countries sadly. What's worse? Most Australians don't even realise, and even worse, some people's reactions upon learning it is rather lacking in any kind of empathy or horror. It makes me sick what my government and countrfolk are doing, and the fact that I benefit from it by using government services, infrastructure etc. My family has even been involved in defending these actions I'm afraid. In saying that, thankfully one uncle had enough and quit after he was forced to do too many things that appalled him. Ever since he's had serious mental illness partly from what he saw, and his guilt. I'm disabled, but if anyone knows of a way I can volunteer to help in some way please let me know. I'm asking earnestly

You don't seem to realize that white guilt can be a weapon and you've already gone ahead and used it against yourself. Bad things in other parts of the world have been done and to a lesser extent are still being done today by some of our governments which are wrong and should be acknowledged and fixed. But you can't say it's "our" pattern because you as an individual are not responsible for what they've done. It's like when other white people say "we did that" to another ethnicity or "we did this" to another group when in actuality it was other people of the same skin colour as us who did these things and most of whom are long dead I'd like to point out. For example, should I be blamed for things like the holocaust, slavery, or apartheid simply because I'm white? Why would you let the corrupt actions of other individual countrymen of yours dictate the level of patriotism you have towards your country? Stop grouping us all together.

but just remember all of these companies are owned by Europeans, they exploit the workers and pay them a measly salary, while the shareholders back in Europe are so rich,i know what i am talking about,i worked in the gold mines in South Africa, those diamonds are exported to Europe and Dubai, then imported again at 10 times or even 1000 times the price in jewellery

Phlilip was a cigarete user ( TomTom brand were a peny for ten ) Philip and a couple of his friends used to walk the 100 yards from the school into the village at moring brake/10,30 am Once in the village they 'd nip into what was a one room shop for a quick cig. I guess Andrew knows that his grandfater was an Anglican priest - he actually conducted the mariage service for my Mum and Dad in about 1928. I left Byo in about in about 2000 as the medical supplies for my wife, who had myeloma were slowly but surely running out. Fortunately our parents had left the UK as teachers after WW !

Your gold and silver have corroded, and their corrosion will be evidence against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have laid up treasure in the last days. Behold, the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, are crying out against you, and the cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of hosts. You have lived on the earth in luxury and in self-indulgence. You have fattened your hearts in a day of slaughter. You Have condemned and murdered the righteous person. He does not resist you.

You guys are retards. ‘The brits’ couldn’t care less about fucking Zimbabwean diamonds, but since you mentioned the British, perhaps you should look up how much aid money Britain donates to Zimbabwe every year - in 2018 it was nearly £120 million, and they have been doing this every year for decades. As for the first idiots comment about “exposing” the international mining companies, clearly you don’t really understand how this works. International mining companies pay enormous amounts of money for the right to mine there, then they pay a royalty on every piece of stone the mine, which the Zimbabwean government then uses to pay for things like schools and healthcare, allowing all of the people of Zimbabwe to benefit from their mineral wealth, rather than just the handful lucky enough to live right next to the mines.
