I don't like the Juventus Zidane but the Real Madrid Zidane wasn't bad. He had a good touch. He did not overdo things and all of his touch had a purpose. Zidane got better when he lost his hair.

Zidane m piace l eleganza e la sua efficienza nelle partite importanti, lo considero un iniesta d 20 anni fa. Negli anni 80 poteva essere paragonato a Falcao o a rijkaard. Pirlo un grandissimo forse un gradino sotto all algerino e matthaus per molti era migliore ma x me no aveva solo un ottimo tiro poteva essere paragonato a Totti cm tiro e cm corsa ad un bale o robben.

i even think he is in his prime here. the first 2 seasons he made with juventus, just before the 1998 world cup, were the best he did in his career. He has never done better than that in a WHOLE season after, even with Real Madrid.

@Paperback agreed, I also like his Juventus days when I think he played more aggressively and physically (he is always elegant!). The world cup 98 success was the crowning occasion. My personal favorite international tournament of his was euro2000 :)

Correct. Many compare him to the likes of Maradona, Baggio, Platini etc, but like you said, he operated a lot deeper than those players, conducting play from deep. He reminds me more of Riquelme, Modric, Pirlo and Verratti.

Zidane is Laudrup and Bergkamp (with less goal) Kind of player ( maybe Rui Costa and Glenn Hoddle also). he played number ten with France. he control the tempo of a game, he was strong, technic, had à great visionbut not fast. I think, today, Debruyne he is the closest to Zizou.
