Very nice, just one thing: doesn’t work using the original extrude button, so it’s just a free hand tool that I can’t put the exact amount of extrude? That’s don’t help at all on technical modeling.

I didn't really understood what are the smart extrude "enhancements" from the previous 2021.2 version

now you can make holes but push the faces to opposite sides, better extrusion depth quality, and few other, the enhancements are minor but helps a lot

Hello and thank you for your good education, I installed 3D Max 2022 but unfortunately the shortcuts do not work, And every time I right-click on an object, a large white menu that is inactive opens and the mouse pointer leaves the screen, Would you please tell me what to do to get it right? thank you

i have a doubt, what if i model a house, apply texture and then mirror it? will those textures be applied to the mirrored parts too?

I never tried it, but I guess after applying the textures if you convert your model to editable polygon and then mirror it, I guess it will be mirror the texture also.

Nice modelling stuff, but is there something worng with materials? All my materials dont show the coulour, or they just show a black material, I can create new physical materials to, but even then, nothing changes at all, what is going on? Is there a video epalining materials in 2022?

sometimes its error of graphic card, or maybe you might have mistakenly uninstalled any plugin. I do have a separate video for 3ds max materials, check my playlist of 3ds max course.

@@zinteractive I just got a brand new machine, so pretty much everything is new, is has an rtx 3060, but I needed to download max again, although my old machine ran 2021, and this new one is 2022

I love this 2022 version! The new modeling tool options were needed. Arnold is good looking, but there are a lot of problems to be solved. The biggest disaster for me is the very poor functioning of the Substance Painter integration. It is not possible to save a Substance preset in a library. The material is reset !!!! And if we export this preset and try to import it into the library material it is the immediate crash !!! While we can import this preset into native material of Substance ...

I hope all this will come to one place in the near future, as the substances have been rebranded, I am sure adobe will make it more user-friendly to be used by third-party software.

I guess its for student download only i have 3DS Max version 2021.3 installed i updated from 2021.2 but as i check the desktop application of Autodesk official app i see there are no downloads so when will i be able to update from 2021.3 to 2022.

As far as I know it’s for all versions, it should be available on their website.

@@zinteractive but they say most of the updates are downloaded manually via Autodesk desktop app..so if I somehow manually download the setup for 3DS max 2022 will it replace my existing 2021.3 and change it to new 2022 without affecting my subscription..please comment..

@@zinteractive and I tried but they have trail versions of 2021 max version and I don’t have a student version as such..but the KZbin videos depicting downloading of 2022 version is through their student account valid for 1 year..so confused..

Well, it's a matter of choice, however, Maya is quite popular among character modelers, whereas 3D Studio Max attracts Architect Visualizers.
