This was the year I was born. We've been gathering spiritually but not geographically for my whole life. I'm not sure why people don't accept this. Building temples all over the world is a pretty clear indication that we need active, temple worthy saints in those places.

Moses 7 Will-Zion-be- the capital city of the whole-universe-and-people from other worlds-will-come to this capital city.

I believe that there is another prophecy on this subject which says that the law shall come out of Zion and the prophecy out of Jerusalem…

A couple years ago in a testimony meeting, I said I could see a time in the not too distant future, that temples would be readily available to anyone who would use them, and mentioned that travel time or weather (as in winter road conditions) would not be a reason to avoid going. I reminded the audience about the saying that "temples would dot the land", and said that meant to me, that there would be one in Miles City, (MT )or Sheridan, (WY ); possibly one in Forsyth, (MT)... one anywhere that there was a big enough LDS population to justify it. And then a year or so later the Cape Verde Temple was announced. And everyone went to the maps to see where the Cape Verde Islands are, because they're invisible on the normal global illustration. Wherever there's a need for one, and a population that can support it... THAT'S where we'll find a Temple.

Excellent discussion. Some points I thought were important to share. 2 Esdras 10, last verse, the angel speaking to Ezra tells him "the Highest [shall] shew thee visions of the high things, which the most High will do unto them that dwell upon the earth IN THE LAST DAYS." This gives us the time period to look for Ezra's vision being fulfilled, the latter days - our days. So the eagle can't represent the Roman empire or other empires that were before the restoration. There are other points that suggest the eagle is the US such as that the beast came from the sea, The United State prime history is that the founding members of this nation came from across the ocean. The eagle has a point, (2 Esdras 12:18) where there is great strivings and it is about to fail, but is restored again. This could easily point to the United States' civil war. Afterwards, we returned to becoming a strong nation, one that eventually would "spread her wings over all the earth" (2 Esdras 11:2) No other nation in the history of the world has had as much sway and authority over other nations as much as the Unites States has had, which is described pretty well in 2 Esdras 11:5-6. 2 Esdras 12 is the angel's interpretation to Ezra about specific points in the vison. In verse 11, the angel specifically says that the eagle is the beast that Daniel saw, but it wasn't expounded unto him at the time he saw it. So there is no question about whether the beast could be Daniels beast or not, the angel says it is. The angel also talks about the Lion in chapter 12 verses 31-32. He says the Lion is " is the anointed, which the Highest hath kept for them and for their wickedness unto the end" The bible dictionary says the title "Messiah" is translated from Aramaic as "the anointed". Add to your reasons the fact that the symbol of the 20 rulers is the feathers. What nation has chiefs who wear feathers on their heads as symbols of authority?

It's purely my own speculation, but I wonder if the gathering of the Jews to modern Israel isn't something of a template for what happens in Missouri. You had a long period of kind of quiet preparation, where some people started buying land, etc. and some actually moving back--the early days of Zionism. Then, in the span of only a few years following WWII, you had massive immigration. Not all Jews moved to Israel, but certainly enough to make it the undisputed central point of all things related to Judaism. There are still other places with massive thriving Jewish populations like NYC and LA, but no one doubts that Israel is the central point. It wasn't a requirement for all Jews to gather to Israel for the prophecy in the scriptures and by Orson Hyde to be fulfilled either--just like it's not a requirement that all Latter-Day Saints return to Missouri. But it was definitely fulfilled, for the Jews, and maybe we'll see a similar pattern with Latter-day Saints? Perhaps Missouri is our Israel, and SLC becomes our NYC? Of course I could be totally wrong on this, but I'm very excited to see what the future brings.

My grandfather once taught me that Isaiah 18 is about the United States, and that if you go deeper into the translation of certain words, it gets really shockingly clear. At one point, Isaiah calls it the “land shaped like wings” or to that affect, which mirrors the statement by the first prophet you mentioned Jared. North America looks like one wing, and South America looks like another wing, of an eagle. Take a look at Isaiah 18 perhaps.

I remember hearing about an elderly chief of a North American tribe telling about his nation once filling the land: a land shaped like an eagle taking flight, from the Mississippi River to the ocean.

There is a more explicit tie of this 2 Esdras 11 vision to Daniel's vision shown forth in the angel's interpretation of the vision described in chapter 12. Verses 11-12: The eagle, whom thou sawest come up from the sea, is the kingdom what was seen in the vision of thy brother Daniel. But it was not expounded unto him, therefore now I declare it unto thee."
