Can confirm. This is my favorite for lighting cigars. Classic zippo case just feels classy. Single torch is great for touch ups and small robustos. Double torch lights the big ones and just gets it done. Also if they break just buy another...

Zippo actually ever made butane with striking whell, in 2005ish. Its called zippo blu, but despite the problem they didn't cover by the lifetime waranty.

I’ve been using the zippo double for over a year - I think it’s fantastic for what it is. And what it is: is 15$ lol I get to use my zippo collection as well to light my sticks Now on to the lighter - I get 2-3 sticks out of one fill with occasional touch ups if need be - I use a Brit North Sea butane. I can light and have lit sticks up to a 56 ring although I’ll admit I usually smoke smaller ring I’ve probably put 200+ cigars through this baby lol zippo quality and for 15$ - to contrast I got a 100$ Prometheus and it’s been back to repair 4 times with less that 2 dozen uses. POS product with POS company right there. There are some drawbacks to be fair. I did mention only 2-3 sticks a fill, but I mean come on you can manage tht. The lighting process is crucial to do properly - toast (blacken) the foot and then give the stick a 15 sec rest, you’re just blackening it. Since it’s now been carbonized when you reapply heat it will fully light in a matter of seconds even for larger rings it makes lighting sticks very easy and quick with the least amount of heat to damage your stick - I also light then cut. I’ve also had zero issues with overheating in any way shape or form. Do expect it to get a little hot tho butane burns at what 23-2400 f. Why would you touch the chimney after running it for prolonged time lmao. All lighter companies give the 10 second rule. To nitpick the two jets are slightly uneven but it doesn’t make a difference tbh, the difference is not a vast one and doesn’t impact lighting, more an aesthetic thing. That’s just my experience

thank you for this review! I was thinking about purchasing this one, but I smoke mostly over 46 ring gauge and I don't want to risk burning my fingers when lighting a cigar 😄

I used a lighter a long time ago to light a stogie. I could taste lighter fluid fir about 20 mins of smoking it. Then switched to matches. Then, I ran into a veteran stogie smoker who used a torch, and one should use 10x refined butane fluid. I found 11x refined. And thought I'd try zippo butane insert. With the mixed reviews. I may just go back to matches. Still waiting for my insert I ordered 9 days ago.

Can I just double double check, the regular premium lighter fluid is fine for cigars? I’ve emailed places like cgars and they staunchly confirmed that I shouldn’t use them.

The regular official premium zippo fuel is perfectly fine. The myth persist amongst people who have been told one thing and never actually tried it :P. Makes no difference using butane or zippo premium liquid fuel.

I use a regular Zippo and personally I find that the smell is strong when you first light it and it does slightly affect the taste on the first draw or two. It doesn't bother me too much, but it's definitely noticeable.

Zippo says that their butane torch inserts aren't compatible with their "Armor" cases, but it seems to fit just fine in your Green Dragon, which is an "Armor" case. Can you confirm that your butane insert does indeed fit and work properly in your "Armor" case?

What I dislike about this lighter is the lack of a fuel window, which is extremely handy. Also, the fact that you can’t easily adjust the flame is rather annoying. The fuel capacity is rather low. Lastly, the deal-breaker for me (like you mentioned) is the overheating. It even says that it shouldn’t be lit for more than 10 seconds. Not a cigar lighter in my opinion. Works pretty well for other stuff, but cigar smoking....? Nah.

@@Viewer-ld5rc I don't own one of those but I can tell you because it's not as easy as the one you speak of doesn't make it hard at all.. I mean you simply take a small screwdriver and turn the screw.. just like most every butane lighter I own... I'll leave mine lit for 60, 90 seconds even though it says 10 sec.. it's lit many a good cigars for me...the thunderbird inserts are good as well.. The only downside would be this Zippo insert doesn't hold much butane

You're right. I have been using it for 2 years and I have no objections to the zippo cartridge. I have a cartridge with two flames and the only thing that bothers me is that one flame is slightly smaller than the other
