Just search old lighter wick and a bunch will pop on Google for sale from just the wicks to flint or the whole kit to replace everything

I'm having trouble taking the lighter out of the metal shell l, tried to pull it out like you did. Should I get tweezers or something

If it’s an old lighter, you might have to pull pull. I might be bent. They’re not usually rusted.

What have i to do if i dont have flint on the end of the string

Flint doesn’t go at the end of the string. The flint goes in the long small tube that leads to the wheel that spins. Then place the spring up the same tube to push the flint up to the wheel. You might have to buy some flint.

Yea i agree im not a zippo connoisseur or anything but i do know you can use em with half the cotton thats in there really it makes it evaporat faster with less cotton/rayon so its pretty wasteful really
