Hi Jakob. Will the PUC+ allow me to connect my midi keyboard to my iPad through Bluetooth, while simultaneously connecting my iPad to my laptop via USB, so that I can use my iPad music apps with a physical keyboard in my DAW? The iPad seems to prevent that from happening through USB and/or WiFi.

The rechargeable 9V batteries that I use in my PUC+ are not enough to power my irig keyboard. So I use the splitter cable and my battery pack. Isn’t it strange? Maybe the 9V batteries don’t supply enough current . I will look into it because i don’t think it should not be necessary to use another power source.. The extra power should be only to not have to use batteries if you have wall power available. But if you have wall power then using Bluetooth is probably not such a bonus. Wireless to me is useful if you have to move around. When stationary, it’s just a gadget for the sake of it. Yes, I love gadgets. Just saying, not complaining. Have fun.

If the puc+ is an audio interface... how would I then connect it to my mixer - Providing I have my midi keyboard and iPad connected to it too?

The puc+ is NOT an Audio interface. It is a MIDI interface, hence the title and 0:05

Audio has to so with sound, what you actually hear in other words. MIDI on the other hand are basically just electrical or digital instructional signals and does not make any sound on its own. . MIDI is used to tell an instrument how to behave. If you take a MIDI keyboard and just play it on its own, you’ll hear nothing because it’s not connected to any instrument. There’s nothing that can generate any type of sound. . But if you connect that keyboard to a synthesizer for instance, you can then use the keyboard to tell the synth what notes to play, including stuff like velocity (“loudness”), if the notes should be long short etc. . That’s just one instance of use for MIDI and there’s much more one can do with it. But hopefully you get the basic of it. . If you’re looking for a way of recording audio then you need an Audio Interface. And if your looking to record audio and use MIDI at the same time, well then you need a combined Audio and MIDI interface.

Jakob Haq When I connect a midi to a mixer I get a low hum sound. Would connecting an audio interface help get rid of that hum?

The PUC+ connects through Bluetooth. The app needs WiFi to scan for firmware updates.
