Hillock with leap slam and cyclone, like Oak, is going to be terrifying. Having him aggro you from off screen and leap slam you to death would make me laugh and cry

One tip not mentioned is to constantly go back to town and bank good pieces, currency, or pieces you just replaced just in case you die. Think of this event like a rougelite and not a roguelike. The first gauntlet I did not do this and did not feel like starting over after dying in Act 4. Ever since caring about building a foundation, I have got to 90+ every time, often within the first 250-350 people to do so. On non-meta, selfmade builds. Last gauntlet, was flamewood ignite totems.

My biggest sleeper strat for the campaign: I’m gonna mule steelskin onto my Witch after the Eggs quest, & grab a heavy belt to keep it leveling in parallel to the acts

@@jerjersgt Not all gems are available to every class at the start. So you have to make a throw away character just to get the gem in act 1.

@Zizaran I never participated to these gauntlets before, but it is tempting. I just got one question for this event: if you die once, can you create a new character and try again? I'm not a hardcore player and I'm mostly interested in getting that mystery box for finishing the campaign

for each act boss that has a more interesting map version, i bet they're just going to swap in the map version. so we could be fighting dunes hillock in twilight strand for example. if they actually take the time to do something more involved than this like giving hillock cyclone or whatever, then gg ggg

since bosses have new abilities, what Izaro has may make transfigured gem farming disgusting dangerous. may be a good idea for people to plan away from getting transfigured gems easily/early as you may need to out-lvl lab more than you think to farm your gem(s) safely.

And also... If the video is tips about what zones are good to farm I feel like its also good to mention how to reset zones (ctrl click the entrance) if you killed all and want to go again or if some minions have some shitty mods you want to avoid... Like I play HC SSF R now for my first time, going into Arakaali with -30% chaos res and the first thing I see is she getting ghosted 😂 Straight out and reset

35 hour campaign for a $5 mystery box is 14 cents per hour. You can make more hunting for loose change on the ground.

If they're reaally allowed to cook, how about making a similar event but some sort of SC/HC hybrid sometime? While it makes for good streamer content, there are some things that make HC less fun than SC to me. (that it's an always online game being perhaps the biggest thing) eg: you gain an "affliction" every time you die... on say 7th affliction you get sent to the void. Far higher stakes than SC but a single DC won't end you.

I never play hardcore. That said, I did play last guantlet. I am so glad thats not how the game always is, and I can not see me ever playing hardcore for an actual league. The additional stress and consequences for things beyond my control like network latency make it a completely unpalatable experience for a long term thing. That said, Gauntlet was an interesting change of pace, and it was fun being part of the moment of community. And there are things you pick up from that experience that then translate into playing better even in softcore in the future. So I will be giving it a try again this Gauntlet, here's hoping I can make it through the campaign.
