I'm a Macdon mechanic, we have a trade in Draper head in the shop now, and we have no record of working on it since we sold it new in 2014. The sickle was broken and welded in 3 places, the feed draper carrier was broken, welded back together without being straightened. They even welded the Draper tensioner to the carrier instead of fixing the $5 tensioning bolt. Factory hydraulic oil had never been changed. Main frame is cracked in several places. Most of the reel is trashed, multiple bearings gone, and there's a reel cam arm that's missing, probably went through their combine. I don't understand how some people can be okay with treating an investment like that, but what do I know. I'm just the guy with the wrenches

Man! Your service truck is squared away organized. I dont do your work but I do carry a ton of tools for my trade and one thing I figured out early on in my life is going to work with an organized truck is without question the biggest reliever of stress for me. Its also easier to maintain discipline putting things away after a tough and long job where you just want to get home. Super impressed with your set up.

Up here in Montana we had a farmer fall asleep while planting. He was running a 9630T and a Bourgault planter along with a cart. He fell asleep with GPS on and drove off of a 35 FT cliff. Totaled everything but the tractor. The cart flipped over 3 times. The pictures of the aftermath is something else. He was okay and walked away without any serious injury's

Yeah I know of a farmer here in Western Australia who fell deep asleep seeding at night, ended up gowing through fences across a couple of fields and actually crossed a country gravel road dragging the fence lines behind him, the noise of the tractor struggling and the seeder bar ripping up the gravel road woke him up... He was a neighbour of the farm I was working on as a seeder driver at that time, I was driving a tracked challenger pulling a 50ft flexicoil bar, when I heard what had happened I played around with the settings on our GPS autosteer system and found that you could set a loud beeping alarm that came on when you were certain amount of metres from the end of a run, I was working the nightshifts so needless to say I enabled that alarm! 😅

I’m a combine tech at an independent shop here in south central Kansas. Had an S780 come in for winter inspection and crop change from corn to wheat. Found ingestion damage in the machine. Come to find out when the customer brought in the small wire concave, one of them was broke, so ingestion occurred during wheat last year, and the customer went ahead and put the round bar concaves in and picked corn anyway.. had to replace feed accelerator supports, threshing elements, separator tines, and one of the plastic sheets in the return pan got knocked down and rubbed into the chaffer frame so I got to put in a chaffer frame kit. It was a fun one…

Man it sucks when you have to take a tractor apart just to fix the problem. You are a big man so you can handle stuff like tires or weights etc. but the dealership sent this one tech. to the farm to work on one of our tractors and he was a little dude so everything he had to lift he did with the crane. Took all the front weights off (they only weigh 100 pounds each) with it cause he couldn't lift them. We helped him put them back on cause it would have taken twice as long with that slow crane. Tractor could have use a good power washing bath but you work with what you have. You have a beautiful family and your wife is gorgeous. Yep picking berries while you are slaving away at the job. Well it be that way sometimes.

Having that crane on your truck really is nice. I remember at least three or four times you have used it on the videos. Nice service truck you have now. That was a difficult area to work in getting that hose in and out. Was pretty dirty and full of mud or whatever??? Oh my. Well anyway, you got the hose replaced and tested and ok. Cleaned out the fluid screen and was ok and wheels back on. Up to the tractor and farmer now to run it and see how it goes. Nice work ZK. Everything back together and cleaned up. Another job done. Thanks for everything ZK. You take care and be safe. The Iowa farm boy. Steve. PS. Enjoy those strawberries!!!!!!🍓 Good to see you and video again!!!!!!

As a fellow dealer tech, the worst thing I've seen so far, is an 8310 non R not want to come out of park at idle. It's pressuring up, but the CCU doesn't like the pressure. Found the transmission pump isn't in the best shape. But of course, the pump was ordered April 18, but they pushed my promise ship date back to end of June. And of course, the customer wants it now.

It's been a few years ago now but my old 8770 four wheeler had one of those hydraulic hose go that are back there by the front of the cab in the engine compartment. I was laying up there all nice and comfy on the axel housing with my feet on the rail down by the radiator doing the top end. All done, fire it up and like you, could barely shut it off quick enough before she grenades. My foot had unhooked wiring that ran around to the pump on the other side. TLDR- check wiring on that runaway pump cause instead of failing low, mine failed WOT without the connection.

I’ve got a 6140R that came in the other day that stopped running. Well the dampener on the front of the engine is resting on top of the front axle and when turning it over you can tell it has very little compression. Did a compression test and had numbers that ranged from 50psi to 325 psi. The #3 glow plug was smashed badly.

That hose you took off wasn't painted. The top nut was loose and let the oring blow. I would say the previous tech forgot to tighten the top nut or didn't do the thorough job you did by taking duals off so wasn't able to get the angle to tighten top nut. Probably wasn't anything wrong with hose but you couldn't risk the possibility. Good video.
