I wish there were more achievements based off historical events and challenges instead of puns. I will say these usually tend to be more difficult, like Mehmet's Ambition, but there is more fun in it cause there's a purpose behind it. Great video nonetheless Zlewikk, just something I think about with the achievements sometimes.

That's a pain. In my Inca game I also had to wait a lot (not to 1600 though!). I pushed north towards Mexico to meet the colonizers but my first border with them actually turned out to be in Argentina.

I recalled that too back when I did a Mayan run (I think that was before the last DLC even, not sure when it got changed if so). Just 5- provinces lost, so if you expand a little into Nahuatl you're mainly restricted by the 5 year cooldown.

Nice game! I'm surprised you didn't get dowed by Castille and their ilk even once. Since fending off endless invasions until the Atlantic is clogged with Iberian/British Oaks and you're finally too scary for even the craziest bold fighter with colonialist personality has been the thematic experience of my NW games so far.

@@ZlewikkTV maybe what made them so aggressive for me was that I got the unholy triple alliance of GB+Spain+Port (in both my like 2 games), eclipsing their entire dogpile force takes ages. (and I never quite managed to ally France as soon as discovered, distance between borders or outright wanting my provinces)

I did this run like a month or so ago. It's not too terribly hard, it's just really, really boring. While you can reform into Maya much more easily after 1.37, actually reforming your religion takes forever depending on how long the Europeans take to start colonizing around Mexico. In my run, they didn't get there until the 1570s.

There are so few getting achievements because it's a pain to have the game pause so often to auto save for ironman. And many of the acivements are kind of nonsense.

That's not the point I'm making. If you open world list of achievement completion, this one is at the bottom, the only one with 0.1% :)

I have like 1200 hours and only 2 achievements. I can't be bothered with ironman, it's just an annoyance more than anything. And if people want to save scum they do it anyway, it just takes more time than reloading a regular game. I also started playing Imperator Rome recently and its achievement rules are even weirder. You can get achievements with mods, but still have to play ironman. So I can download all the boosts and cheats I want, make my armies and economy unstoppable and still get achievements, but God forbid I reload a save file... -.- Where's the logic in that?
