We love Sorrel in the Caribbean. We boil ginger & spices, ie cinnamon and cloves, with the Sorrel leaves. You can also use Hibiscus leaves instead of Sorrel.

You can add dates instead of sugar, sugar is not too healthy for the body, the sweet taste from the fruits are perfect too. Zobo is one of the drinks that helps lower blood pressure, but strictly stay away from SUGAR.

I see my Caribbean sisters on here and I would like to school them..seeing this video should remind all of us that our culture is evident that our ancestors is from the continent of Africa. We just didn’t discover sorrel on our Caribbean island we call home. The wicked colonizers stole all these goods from the motherland along with our ancestors and of course our ancestors never lost a touch of their culture and continued the tradition. By the way , love me some sorrel whenever especially over the Christmas holidays 🥰

Sorrel tastes better if left to 'ripen' for a few days. We use cloves and ginger only; I've never had sorrel with pineapple or cucumber but it sounds good.

My father would add horse tail with the drink for UTI or overall stomach health skipping the sugar and adding raw honey for sweetness if you want. Just a natural medicine tip 👍

put zobo in boiling water turn of flame allow to draw until it is cold blend it in its juice strain and sweeten , blending release the sour flavour that is in it you will need nothing else but sugar .
