"Yuca" came from Spanish/Portuguese unfortunately, not African languages. It is called "cassava" or the local language's word for it in most of Africa, including Ghana. She just knows some people only know it as "yuca" so she mentioned it edit: sorry, spoke too soon, cassava is the one that came from portuguese! Yuca itself is actually from the Taino language, the indigenous people living in the Carribbean before colonisers came. Then the spanish and portuguese stole the word

Thanks, I made a real fufu for the first time (not instant!) thanks to your video! In our house we call fufu “banana mochi” because it reminds us of the Japanese sticky rice cake. My boyfriend loves eating this. I served it with groundnut soup made with my Ethiopian spice mix (berbere) and the sweet flavour of the banana and peanut really complement the savoury and spicy taste of my groundnut soup. 💛 A tip to anyone new to making fufu, if your bananas are brown your fufu will be brown! *Laughs* The taste doesn’t change, unless the bananas are so old they’ve started fermenting, just don’t be surprised if you use older bananas and the fufu is not golden like in the video.

I’ve been wanting to try fufu since forever! It looks so delicious eaten with soup. I can’t wait to attempt making this with a traditional soup from Ghana and also seeing how it would taste with soups and stews form my Hispanic background (I hope it’s okay for me to do this, I don’t mean to offend anyone)

Thank you for sharing. It saves us from the tedious process of pounding, ending up with blisters in the palms.

I've been craving fufu for months even though I've never tried it😂thank you for posting this video, it's very easy to follow and I'm definitely going to try and make it. Thank God I didn't buy the powder one even though I'm sure it's just as good. Fufu here I come...I'm gonna eat you🤣

Wow! So simple! There's no African restaurant at all here in Utah with Fufu that I kno of. But I will follow every step so I can see what everyone is talking about. I'm from the South Pacific and we appreciate any food and that Casava we call it Manioke. But do you have any other recipe soup tutorial so I can make it also to try?

Well I like the combination of the cassava and the planting and to see them combined and see how fluffy and how sticky and how elastic it is it's amazing and just added a little water wow I want to make food food myself I would love to try African food the only African food I have was from my ex-boyfriend from Nairobi Kenya back in my college years but he didn't serve that he served ugali and gizzard, and a thin flat bread called chapati mmmm great 👍🏿
