Communications with your team. Unless the company is big enough to have dedicated special software, prod dev teams do tech packs in Excel.

Hi Zoe, I am a long time subscriber and your videos during college always gave me that extra bit of info that pushed me to excel. I don’t know if you’ll see this, but I was wondering if you knew of an illustrator similar app that I could use to create flats on my iPad Pro( as the illustrator app on the iPad is nowhere near similar to the computer version, which I can’t afford right now) I have seen so many options, but wanted to know your suggestion (if you had any) before I went ahead and got one of them. Thanks for the great content and the awesome teaching spirit.

You don't turn flats into patterns. You use the flat as the guide for exact construction details that go into making the pattern.
