Dude, you are a goddamn genius! I have to say, that convertible bunk dog crate is really cool. So is the addition of the fake grass but it would be cool if it were a real lawn. Maybe even a garden, fresh fruit and veggies on a boat! If not you at least need a lime tree.

Hey Marty. Since you already drill holes in the boat, how about 1or 2 in metal strips on the edge of the turf. It will block wind and make for easy replacement or removal. You may even be able to use treated wood slats.

Not sure velcro is the answer but maybe loop lock. The only problem is how well would an adhesive stick after getting saltwater on it? Hmm... maybe have to go with something a little more long lasting. But you come up with some amazing DIY so I know you will figure it out. Great video and thanks for the long awaited "BOAT UPDATE" you rock.

Hi, just found your vlog, i love your easy going tone. Great idea for keeping your dogs out of trouble although by the looks of them you shouldn't run into to any. Just one thing about the net hooks in the prow, you should have them inverted from one to the next, it will make it harder for the wind or waves to unhook them.. Going to go watch the first 15 episodes now, cheers!

Hey Marty you could probably use velcro on the fake grass for it won't fly off lol😆
@ter4508 жыл бұрын
Love the dog proofing, though I can see my wife installing these things for me. Velcro was my first thought, though the Florida weather and salt water would eventually kill it. I was also thinking of some button snaps. www.sailrite.com/Snap-Fastener-Cloth-to-Surface-Silver-Button-3-8-Screw-Stud?gclid=CjwKEAjwuo--BRDDws3x65LL7h8SJABEDuFRwsB-RSPKLbnHuhWJdsHMItJIb6uwYLVoozHSupHHehoCbuDw_wcB Also, I wonder if it would be possible to make the netting dog safety netting in sections, for easier repair, replacement or installation.

great carvings, by the way if the straps happen to not work; try a spring with a flat sheet metal hook to secure the grate. with my dogs I know they will get bored and taste the strap or anything chewable. If you can train the dogs to poop and urinate off of a plank, that would be ideal except possibly if your boat happens to be docked at a private harbor.

When you drill holes, like for the standsions you should put some caulk/silicon in with the screws.

because that's not an actually thing you tard. Buoy is what float out in the water, and a "boay" is someone mistakenly pressing the "y" instead of the "t" because they're right next to each other.

Marty, having been a dog trainer and breeder for over 30 years, if your dogs are not used to being confined while your away, your efforts to contain them are going to end up in a trash pile. I assume that your dogs enjoy their own freedom when you're away from them on land, they will not understand why they are being 'punished' when they are on the boat and you leave. They will desperately try to find you (called separation anxiety) and they will get out, one way or another. The foam floor is just begging to be shredded, the wire door will get pulled off of it's hinges or the hinges themselves will be attacked. My advice is to get a couple of crates, one for each and start crate training them, so that they don't feel like it's a trap and more like their own den. Favorite toys, towels for bedding, etc. PS, use the plastic 'Vari-Kennel' style of crate they can't hurt themselves on them as easily as they can an all wire crate. Hope this helps.

I went fishing today and got the 2nd largemouth bass out of the river here since I moved from Florida it was only 13in it's really rare to get them mainly smallmouth bass in that river, I'm going to look to see if you got any videos sailing ⛵️ now, I hope you are out there enjoying life doing what you do best, I would like to get paid to fish someday but for now I'm stuck being a journey man iron worker.

I learned about the ac needing seawater from another video. it got me thinking about how much cooler the water temperature is at deeper levels. I'm sure you could come up with a tube that would drop to a lower level and bilge pump the cooler water up through an evaporative cooler unit. it would be powered by solar/battery. it would help keep you cooler in hot conditions while saving ac electricity.
