That's such a cool little plane for that! I bought an Eachine Razor, which has a model specific version of the ZOHD hardware in it. Flying a plane FPV is such a different experience from flying a quad. Very fun! I ended up buying two full Kopilot kits, I put one in a wing (Banggood Aggressor) and have another for a sailplane. Looking forward to seeing your FPV take-off and landing attempts!

You have the perfect set up on that plane, that is exactly what I have been wanting to do, I just dont yet have the plane capable yet. I have the Kopilot and love it. As someone who is newer to the hobby is has helped me immensely. It was affordable which is really important, but it really helped me build up my confidence while learning, saved me many many times.

Have been using copilot for a while great help with flying but you don't need the autolaunch with wheels... nice video

Actually you can use Kopilot Lite for a form of semi-autolaunch on wheels. Set on runway, Tx Mode Switch to Stabilize (or Manual), throttle up to get her moving at more than the minimum ground speed (tested at about 7.5kph or less), flick to RTH Mode (or better still set Tx up for Momentary switch to change the Mode switch positions and release that :D) and use only rudder to hold her straight. Y-chord the receiver Rudder PWM to Kopilot - needed for calibration - and Rudder servo if using PWM set-up or just Receiver Rudder to servo if using a receiver that allows both S-bus and PWM outputs simultaneously. Use Stabilized and Rudder/Elevator for landings. Lowers Pilot Load. What could be simpler?!! 😜😁

Kudos for flying from inside the cockpit FPV. Self level mode will definitely reduce pilot workload..I guess they made too many of these and are struggling to offload them. Horse for courses, as we say down here in the Midlands.....😀😀🤔🇬🇧👍

It is a handy little compact FC and is ideal for pushing range. SBUS makes life easier also.

Thank you very much.....appreciate you kind comments. My fatshark goggles have a trinity head tracker module installed. The giros output on channels 7 for pan and 8 tilt. My taranis radio has a trainer port that I can plug my goggles into and allocated a switch is if I was linking transmitters for master and student buddy box arrangement. I set my radian to only allow Ch 7 & 8 to be controlled by the trainer port. Its a bit fiddly and setup is unique to type of goggles and radio. Simply put, you have to know how to link radios but only select CH 7 & 8. The camera has a pan and tilt brackets that requires two micro servos and they are plugged into CH 7 & 8 of my receiver. Im my radio I set a mix for CH 7 & 8 to get their signal from the trainer port 7 & 8. Alternatively use the side sliders on your radio....lol

I love these ZOHD kopilots. I put them in wings like ARO PRO and Mini see how they fly before investing time and money in more expensive gear for flight controllers, vtxs, cameras, etc. Also tossed them gliders and Volantex Rangers. Not having so much luck with the volantex Trainstar Ascent. I wonder if I am getting the level calibration wrong on this plane. Level for these cub style planes with landing gear is done with the plane setting on the landing gear touching the ground or is done with the belly level with the ground?

Normally the level flight line for the Cub is the top of the fuselage. It will be trial and error to get it right. The rates would be a little more on ailerons as they are big and lazy.

These things work well but have a couple of "Gotchas!" To ensure settings are retained if you want to remove the settings board, you MUST remove it BEFORE powering off! (Chinese sense of humour???) The Kopilot is a SLOOOWW thinker and the long boot-up time is seen by some ESCs as a loss of signal and they shut down and require a power cycle to reactivate. If, after 20seconds, your unit just sits there beeping in Manual try a different ESC. (ZOHD ESCs are always good - others a crapshoot!) The Kopilot controls the throttle level to maintain level flight in RTH, BUT!!! If the throttle is hard down when RTH is selected (as maybe a glider in a thermal might be) the motor WILL NOT kick off regardless of forward speed! Same as for Autolaunch - throttle must be above 0. As with ALL STABILIZER UNITS, there is a finite limit to how much vibration under which the gyros/accelerometers will function correctly. If your prop/motor combo is buzzing, FIX IT - or watch your pride and joy (which may have flown perfectly many times previously) get stuffed into the ground! 😜🙄 Oh and 1 more. Failsafe RTH on signal loss DOES NOT latch in as on most quads. So as your plane heads back towards home and you regain signal the Kopilot will switch back to the Tx-selected Mode. If "Manual" be ready for it!

4 channel? The kopilot only effects the Ailerons and elevator. You can use flaps but they will stay plugged into receiver. normally 5 ch for flaps

Hello, I am doing well with that controller, one question, when I raise the plane to 300 meters and I put RTH the plane returns but it lowers the programmed by the manufacturer a lot, what would happen if we put the elevator directly to the receiver without connecting it to the controller card? Do you think it maintains the height at which it was flying?

That would stop it loosing height but takes away the autopilot feature as you may lose connection and need RTH. I don’t think it will turn, doesn’t it need the elevator to turn also? Bank and yank turns
