ZOLA: Is This The New BIG Wedding Vendor Marketplace To Rival Weddingwire?

Thanks to those who helped select this video topic in my polls. Zola recently got into the wedding planning marketplace creating "Zola for vendors" a place where couples can browse vendors in a similar manner to the Knot & Weddingwire. The key difference? The listing is free and uses a pay per lead model, similar to thumbtack instead of a yearly advertising contract.
Zola is setup well but still in its infancy, I have yet to receive a lead, although my account has only been live for about a month. While I assume mostly DJ's will be watching this video, it is interesting to note that they have a very limited selection of categories for vendors currently, with many sub categories. For example, my new business itsLITri.com doesn't really fit into a category on Zola as it would fall into event rentals and or decor.

I heard about Zola from you back in February. I’m just getting into wedding videography. I created a listing for in March. So far I have 12 leads and booked 5 weddings. It is definitely the next big thing. I booked those wedding under free listing. They will start charging soon bu they will be doing by credit instead of Weddingwire that charges you a big chunk of money every year. This one each lead will cost you btw )10 to $20. I prefer that as around of 10 leads you have a chance of booing one wedding.

Wow! Thanks for the update! I think the key with zola is you can see their budget before you pay for a credit, weddingwire you have no idea what you're getting into

What’s up Alex, I’m a photographer in So Cal, I signed up for Zola about 3-months ago. I have gotten 3 leads and booked 2 so far. I’m waiting on the 3rd lead to respond. On average getting only 1 lead per month. I’m still in the free credit period, so I haven’t paid for any leads yet. Thank you for sharing

Of course 2 days after publishing this video I have a new feature that I wish is could add to the video, but read below to learn about it. Zola has an affiliate program where they will pay you to refer brides to their registry, wedding website, and vendor search features, you do have to apply for it but it seems pretty worth it commissions are $5-$20 per sign up, which is HUGE considering something like amazon affiliates pays pennies. I might sign up in the future, since I am already an affiliate for many things 😅

The bash is also owned by the knot and weddingwire, but if it works for you stick to it. The zola listing is free so it never hurts to have another backlink at the very least
