We're finally on to the monsters!!! Starting with the Orc Abomination, Benson and I get to work on how to tackle the elephant in the room.

Blood! Blood everywhere!!! Oops, I still think it came out looking pretty darn nice! But yeah, my personal preference is a little less :-D How about everyone else? How much gore will your abomination be getting?

Hahaha, we use blood for the same reason! I only use it on mistakes, and if some model is boring and needs a splash

I agree Chris! But then again, you cannot have less without the existance of more :-D Without some models with a lot, we wouldn't know that a little bit less looks better! (In our opinion anyway) Benson came over today, and saw the model in person, we've both decided it actually looks really nice in your hand, really like he just turned someone into mist - yuck!

I waited a long time but I got this Game Zombicide Green Horde and so many great figures with it, just yesterday. I'm very excited to get them painted. I did think the blood was a little overboard in the end. I would prefer to see less blood and more model. But, as you said it is personal preference.

I’m with you on that. Nice to have a mix on models I guess too. Makes them all look unique :-D they’ll be very little/no blood on the fatties/runners!

If it is a small gap I use matt varnish to fill the gap prior to painting.

Ive been a fan of the zombicide series for a while now, and finally just got a copy of my own (green horde, yay). Was looking up some videos of painting miniatures, and stumbled across your videos. Have never painted anything before, but your videos have given me some confidence to try and give it a go. Just wanted to say thanks, and I can't wait to continue to see more of your videos!

Oh fantastic. That’s what this channel is all about! I don’t say it very much now because I’ve been painted on the channel for a year now, but when I started the channel it had only been a few months - I started with Black Plague. Hi my liquid green stuff is quite dry in the pot.... do i just add water to rehydrate it?

I normally try to apply it as dry as I can and get my brush wet and work it into the model once it’s on it. I’ve actually swapped to using Army Painters green stuff instead now, which so far seems much better and I’ll do a video on it very soon

Splatter is pretty good in real life, just be careful - try not doing it behind a camera so you can see what you're doing :D and stop when it looks the best!

To be brutally honest, I really think you should strip that model and repaint it again. The amount of blood has really clogged up huge amount of detail on the front. I’m not a fan of stripping miniatures unless if it is an extreme mistake, which we all do. Sometimes it’s better just to take that L and start over. This could be a learning point for the future and showing people when they should in fact start over again and that it is OK. My two cents

Haha, I don't think I would ever strip a model, it would have to be sooo bad for that. The amount of minis we all have to paint, its not worth setting yourself back multiple hours! The blood is actually quite see-through, I can still see nearly all the detail in person and up close, and on the table you couldn't see it before the blood anyway! I'm just not a fan of adding a lot of blood unless I have to, so I'm unhappy it flicked sooo much that third time! However, I do like your idea, it's probably a good learning point and a useful video to show people how to strip a model! I'll also enjoy painting a model so badly to show it being stripped :-D

That plus the amount of blood is really personal taste I think. I usually don't splat any blood on my Zombicide minis but can sure understand if someone else finds that boring.

Very good point Meik. I’m fairly similar as if you’ve seen a bunch of my Zombicide videos, a lot are done with 0 blood, some have a splash, this one has a lot. I think it’s good for the channel to have examples of all, very easily for you to pick which suits your wants after that :-)

I noticed you decided to show your prep work on the miniature this time. I've always wondered, do you normally just edit that step out or do you normally just keep the mold lines and paint over them? As for the dark green skin, it reminds me a LOT of how I used to paint my 40k Orks when I was a teen. I always liked the dark green :D Sad to see it covered up in the front. Someone exploded on him!

I don't bother filming it normally, I have done in a few of my videos, just as a reminder now and again that people should at least consider doing it. I don't prep all my miniatures, you can't see 95% of these mold lines once they are more than 5cm from your face, so I don't waste my time.

We are our own worst critics right? :) I can't ever unsee mine even when I do trim them but miss a bit >.< Doesn't help when I have to edit it and it's the size of my screen lol. This guy though definitely needed it.

I noticed it was a little set back too, sorry about that! It's a really delicate balance with these large models, too close and you wander off camera constantly, too far back and its harder to see! Maybe I should have cropped it during editing, but then the resolution will be worse... WIll try and keep this in mind!

I'm less sure. It's not my favourite paint job by far, but the little guy is right in front of me and he looks good. I think it doesn't come across on camera very well :-( Also he's just a lot of green skin with nothing exciting going on - think it's my least favourite Abomination ever! I am to highlight his teeth back in, try and make his face look better

To be completely honest I feel you need to get better at the first step, the preparation of the miniature... those first minutes where a nightmare! And for the blood I know this is the Abomination but that is too much!!

How does showing how to prepare a miniature 100 times help? :-D I actually don’t prepare any of my own models, only do them on the channel (unless they are super bad - I can’t even see the lines once there on a board and not in front of my face). Everyone likes different amounts of blood! But yeah too much for me, but if you watch carefully you can see the third flick just got too much on! Just bad luck, model still looks nice and it’s very easy to change how much blood you put on, but it’s very hard to remake a video!
