Thank you so much for being here for us zone 3 gardeners. Sometimes it gets discouraging seeing so many gardens months ahead of us.

Stopping by to say hi, and that the garden claw is a wonderful tool! My neighbor has one from many years ago, which I borrowed to work amendments into my soil with. The one we bought may be a better product in some ways, but it’s heavier, and as a 60ish year old woman, this matters. (My neighbor says I can borrow hers anytime!) It was just good to see someone who appreciates this tool. Also, it’s better for me to follow people who are in cooler zones than I am, rather than warmer - I just get jealous and think I must be behind! Supposedly we are Zone 5b/6a, but it seems we have a cooler microclimate than that. Thanks for your thoughtful, informative videos - I’d not heard of starting glad corms at all before!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and ideas! We are Zone 3 too and there are very few *good* resources out there for new gardeners in the more harsh zones where timing is everything! Thanks again! 🙏🙏🙏

This was a nice video, I'm not sure why but it's always fun to see how everyone's stuff looks. Some of your stuff is way bigger, heck I haven't started cucumbers yet!! Agh! Better get on it. Loved the bit about getting help. It's so nice to hear that I'm not the only one who struggles. My arse feels like someone shot me right in the cheeks with rubber bullets some nights lol. Keep up the good work Kristen! You're going to love that greenhouse!! It makes hardening off so much easier!

Your dahlias will be fine, I started mine Feb. 1st so that I could get strong cuttings for the garden and for sale. All 220 are thriving, yes I had to lift the grow lights quite high as most are over a foot tall and yes I have been pinching them to contain their growth, but I won't have to pinch them once planted. I split all my tubers to sell the extra plants and almost all are only in 4" cubes made out of milk cartons. All are in soil from the garden so they are already climatized to the soil conditions.

Great video! Can you do a video on zone 3 hardy flowering perennials? Its hard to find flowering perennials that reliably come back in zone 3.

Greetings from Vancouver island 👋 Your seedlings are looking amazing. I love your shirt! Did you design it? Your Dahlia World is WILD. I can't wait to see all these planted out in the garden. I have a garden claw too. I love it.

So exciting! We are having a very wet and cold spring. I have about 30 dahlias in gallon pots growing in my pop up greenhouse. I’ve had to heat it though. Good luck and happy gardening.

That's a good idea! I should put my dahlias in the greenhouse when we're finished building it.

Love ❤❤ your happy dance. Just wondering if you have a list of your flowers that you start & what date you start them for zone 3 gardening. I of course am interested in the earliest date you can start but not so early that they struggle if they can’t be planted outdoors? Perhaps one of your books address such? thank you

Love your new place, looks like you will have a lot growing this year! I hear you about getting help, it can be hard finding time for all the things, lol. I really hope more people look to the bartering system, so many benefits and it builds a great community if we all help each other out :)
