Last time I recall the Time Bandits, the Dwarfs was all Dwarfs? And whats with the Rock scene as that water titan. I don't recall the film him saying much. Typical Taika Waititi to ruin a classic.

"Why" -- because movies like those on this list are largely watched by the younger generation, and they did not grow up with the originals. Just as I didn't want to watch my parent's favorite movies from the 60s and 70s (camera work, acting style, actors I didn't know), kids today don't want to watch their parents' movies from the 1990s and 2000s. It's not new to you. It's new to them.
