The two lads were held in the Tower of London which was also a palace at that time. The oldest boy is thought to have a congenital illness and possibly passed away. It was a horrible time to be a child due to high mortality rate. My guess is, is that they both died from fever and quietly placed in the grounds. I don't think Richard was any worse than any other king at that time. Henry Tudor was'nt a barrel of laughs either.

You must remember your view of Richard the third is coloured by Tudor propaganda, particularly Shakespeare's play, which he had to write as he did, or face serious trouble, plus there is an altered portrait of Richard. The victors write history.

@@vintagebrew1057 That is the first time I've ever heard such a hypothesis, and I'm nerdy enough to have read a sh*t ton of non-fiction and watched enough documentaries to make my eyeballs bleed about English royalty from William the Conqueror onward. Edward V was nearly 13, his brother Richard about 2 years younger, well past the age of danger. Due to circumstances, scandal and rumor, they would NEVER have been quietly buried in such a manner (although it would have been nice, but that's us looking at it from our 21st C eyes) after a mundane death from fever. Their bodies would have been paraded in public to help secure Richard III's hold on the throne, to prevent rebellions in their name and potential imposters. Then they would have been buried respectfully. I don't believe Edward V had any congenital issues at all, but Richard III's son Edward did and of course he died. Do I believe Richard III was solely responsible for their deaths? No, I do not. I think there were a lot of interested parties who got confused on who was working with or against who and, frankly, they lost their damn minds. But I believe 100% that those two boys were murdered and they are buried somewhere on the Tower property and will probably never be found.

I stopped watching at 0:32. The thumbnail is misleading. That is not a historical movie. It's a heavy drama BS of those which get the Oscars. Condolences to all the men who will be forced to watch this in order to please their girlfirends. Thumb down.

This will not be a very commercially successful film. The majority of people who even know who Richard III was are British and or history buffs (specifically Anglophiles). I have no interest whatsoever in seeing it (even though I have multiple history degrees) because of exactly what you said. Most of it looks like overhyped drama that NEVER actually occurred!

It was released in UK in 2022. It appears that it will be released in theaters in the US (and elsewhere) in 2023. I believe that's why it is listed as a 2023 trailer with the US green screen rating at the beginning. (Did you like it?)

Ooh, this looks good. Has anyone read Josephin Tey's book? I can't recall the title. But she is hospitalized with an injury which will take time to heal and while she is laid up, she begins to dig into Richard III. She is a mystery writer & has a theory. Very entertaining book.

You know what is mindblowing? Richard III society are not aware that 99% of his portraits are not him. They are mislabelled portraits of Henry VII. Not taht the experts realise their mistake of yet, but it took them while with Katherine Parr and lady Jane Grey too.

Well, Henry IV had good reason to usurp Richard III, although one might argue that he shouldn't have taken the crown and should've given it to Richard's chosen heir the earl of March. But the bright side is we got Henry V, although it was downhill from there until Elizabeth.

Tudor propaganda didn't paint Richard III deformed. OK one or two portrait was much later overpainted in shoulder area(we don't know when), but the one way shoulder up is even how prince Arthur's portrait was painted It's simply artist style. Not sign of deformity, though i get how unaware could mistaken it for it. But what is mindlowing for me is that most people still don't realise there are only one or two of actual portraits of Richard. Rest are mislabelled portraits of Henry VII. (they were distant cousins, sometimes those do look alike.) That is why sometimes 'Richard' has lots of wrinkles, grey hair, dent in cheek, one eye bit lazy. Those are all traits of Henry VII. It's case of mistaken identity, not propaganda making Richard look deformed and too old etc. Tudor propaganda created portraith with broken sword of Richard-that was how they viewed him. As person who lost in battle. While rest of 'Richards' look sympathetic, grieving, etc. That's how you wish to portray the person who founded a dynasty, who mourned his wife, etc. It makes no sense for such sympathetic view be given to Richard during reign of Henry VIII. I know it is not easy to tell that it is Henry Tudor, however Henry VIII by Wewyck's workshop has sometimes such different face! Workshops had these issues. Artists were coming and going and as result same person looked often very different.
