Could you confirm the torque setting for the valve cover as it looked like it shows 3.5nm which seems rather low, thanks.

25 nm plus or minus 3 nm so I'd say 22 nm max

@@michaelphillips1959 wow that's brilliant thanks. I have the service manual for the engine it shows the water pump bolts as 12 with + and - above each other and then 1.5nm which seems to mean 12nm plus or minus 1.5nm so sort of reads as 1.5 to 13.5nm. If this is how it really is I have all the correct settings. I'm not a mechanic but I'm not afraid to have a go and this job seems simple enough so want to do it myself to save money and learn at the same time.

That seem a lot of work, what's the point of the valve cover caps if you have to take the rocket cover off seems like a whole lt of of work to me for a simple job especially when you have to take in to account the work needed to just take the tank off.

Yes ,designers dont make it easy and never have, they have their creative head on and not the end user head on, on modern engines i would do checking the valve clearances unless there was a need.its a case of .... if it aint broke dont fix it

@@michaelphillips1959 I get what you're saying and if it was a simple job taking the tank off I would. I watched your vid about replacing the PKE and it was crazy how many connections there are just to get the tank off.

@@Mean-bj8wp I understand, This is the first massive Chinese bike manufacturer that has designed a range of 310cc models based on a newly designed engine and frame setup. The factory tooling and plastics design tooling alone, the only items which are sourced out the their spec are the instrument clusters and the Bosch and and Bosch or Delphi injection system. The assembly line on manufacturing floor assembles the bike like a jigsaw puzzle and each item on the bikes are put on in order, that's why the videos are intended to help you take off and put on items in order, so you know what you are doing . All the 310 cc range in 2022 get new 350cc engine and upgrades . Yes I understand the minimal space to work, have you ever tried to change a headlight bulb in some cars ??? Zontes built from scratch and are bespoke, china before this last 5 year era tended to clone honda etc yet they are becoming more design and implement like electric motorbikes and cars .
