Hi! I bought my g1on last Friday. A few suggestions for firmware 1.22. 1. Press and hold ENTER for 2 seconds to turn the pedal on. 2. Press menu and looper button to toggle speaker simulations on and off. 3. Allow display inversion. Orange stands out better than black. Maybe even if you could add some setting to adjust the hue of the display. That would be awesome. 4. I'm almost blind. I would really love to see added an editor for the PC to alter patches there. Easier to read black text on white, rather then black text on orange.

I've been using a Roland GR 30 synth, so I needed a small portable, inexpensive muti-effects box. I'm very pleased with this little Zoom G1 Xon ! Take your time and program a good CLEAN patch first. Because there is NO bypass, you'll need to scroll into your CLEAN (bypassed) patch. Distortions aren't too bad and the reverbs and delays are impressive. When I need more, I'll use the Zoom G3X (I like). So, if you carry many things in your rig, but need to be light, portable and flexible, these Zoom units are great value for the buck!

This model contains various sims of signature tube amps right? so my dumb question is: can I run this one (or the G1N) through simple cheap desktop speakers? and of course I'm not talking about studio monitors or active speaker witch I can't afford. I was just wondering if the output line signal is principally quite low, so why it's powerful enough for headphones but not for regular loudspeakers? Is it necessary to have some sort of amplification?

Very happy with the unit, only one thing -- I can't figure out for the life of me how to add a reverb. All I want to do is add a heavy reverb to patch D6 and every time I go to the Dly/Rvb selection, it only offers me the variety of delays. Do I need to manipulate one of the delays to turn it into a reverb? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Remember only 5 fx per patch.You probably need to delete 1 effect from the patch so you can add the reverb.

I'd buy this jst for reverb FX. A single low end reverb FX pedal cost minimally 50, and this thing cost 50. The amp models sound terrible tho. But for 50, u get a tuner, reverb, and many other FX that sound half way decent, looper with nice drum tracks. Can't beat it for the price.

Hi! Just got my G1Xon, and am starting to get acquainted with it. Quick question - how can I use it to turn a specific effect on and off? like a "regular" pedal, I want to select an effect (e.g. - overdrive) and then turn it on, and then turn it off, returning to a clean sound, and not switching to another effect instead. I don't know for a fact the answer, but I think your best option is to switch to a preset with no effects. I don't think this pedal gives the option of turning on and off single effects within a chain, but with some preplanning you should be able to effectively do this by switching to different presets. If you want to have something closer to a real pedalboard with switches for individual effects, invest in the G3n instead.

If you're just wanting to alter overdrive, you can set the pedal to be an on/off switch and still keep the other effects running continuously

Just firmware updates right now, and it's unlikely to ever get an update which will allow for recording. If you're looking for recording to PC, I'd recommend the G3 range (G3/B3, G3ex G5n), they also allow you to edit patches with software.

Chris Aguilar Technically, that is correct. You can turn effects on/off within a patch, but only when editing the patch (check pg. 10 in the manual). If you want to bypass and effect (or a clean bypass), you'd have to set up a separate patch. I've got this MFX process and it's amazing, given the price point, even with its minor limitations.

Omar El Gelani If they're powered desktop speakers, yes you can, but you'll need a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter to step it down to the speaker connector size (or headphones if you wish). When I travel I take this thing with me and just plug my headphones in. (There is a master volume in the G1 that helps out when using headphones.)

There's a metronome that counts you in that mimics the beat of whatever drum pattern you have ready for looping, it also has just a regular metronome to play along with as well, so no matter what you're always on time when starting a looper track, i like it a whole lot, it's a nice little pedal
