That´s tremendously useful, actually perfect for complete sound noobs such as myself. :) 2 comments: 1) The problem I see with your setup is that it looks tremendously intimidating if you´re aiming to conduct some candid interviews out in the field. People who are uncomfortable with a regular camera in front of the faces may totally lose it with that little monster of yours. 2) Is there any other recorder with integrated mics and a super/hyper cardioid pattern? Thanks buddy!

@iTouchiPodz001 Seems like they're not on the ebay anymore. Just do a search for "shotgun shock mount", there are plenty of similar ones on the net. Just make sure that the diameter is enough to host H1.

Very informative. I've been researching figuring out if I need to buy a shock mount for my mic.

Is the shock mount used in this video advertised on eBay as a shock mount up to 28mm mics?

Hot shoe photo/video accessories adapter has typically 1/4'' rode. Microphone stand diameter is 5/8''. You need a thread adapter. I actually didn't find 5/8 to 1/4 direct adapter on ebay at the time I built it so I used two: 5/8 to 3/8 and 3/8 to 1/4. If you are lucky to find one - that'd be less cumbersome.

haha that little [blank] does pickup EVERYTHING. Before i bought the H1, I thought I may use it as a hand mic too. NO WAY. My H1 has its own tripod now.

Ok well for filming, you don't place the mic on the camera, you hold it separate. Because the microphone have to be close to the subject and camera should be far. (Flat Footage) If someone doesn't know what it is or not using it, should know what is it and use it EVERYTIME or else, he is not professional.
