I'm repeatedly impressed by how Zoom engineers included controlling for every conceivable variable. All the settings can be changed. Now, if only a small USB-C ambisonic phone plugin array could be made, and then higher quality recordings from local mics could be fed post-production into the ambisonic field recording, subtracting the original audio from that area and replacing it with the local microphone's audio... So, use a simple ambisonic mic array to record the soundfield and use that information to determine the location of every other microphone in that soundfield (by detection of similar audio events). The whole audio signal from the little ambisonic array could even be deleted in the final product. All sound could come from higher quality, conventional microphones. Other phone mics would be sufficient for many use cases.
