Zoom Q8 Camera Musician's Review

As I have a new Canon now, the Q8 makes a great second camera to mount, and again, the sound quality is great . You could use the camera just for its audio, when you upload off the sd card it has audio only files. NO WIFI on this unit.

No mention of the wide angle lens- not a big fan of this feature. I like zoom a lot generally.

I recently bought a Q8 and the sound recorded on it is of authentic perfection and beauty and I am very happy with the purchase. However, I have a problem that when transferring the file to the computer with Windows 11 to move to KZbin, the sound loses a lot of its quality, which leaves me disappointed. I've already tried to solve the problem with the store where I bought the computer, but they couldn't give an answer. So, since I really like the ZOOM equipment, I would ask, if possible, for your help, which I thank you very much. Greetings from Portugal and all the best, Manuel Alipio

Transfering the file off of you SD card to your computer. No quality should be lost. Then where do you transfer the file to? An editing suite?

How would this be for recording a live band with stage lighting if the camera was beyond the dance floor? Would it be terrible or just not great in your opinion.

Set audio levels correctly on the camera to make sure there's no distortion and the audio results are superb. The video picture is not as outstanding but it's alright.

Movies stored as MP4 file on SD card on the zoom (you can set it to have audio files separate too) Transfer it to computer first then edit or just upload to youtube.

I am having a problem with my zoom Q8 when I record with cable going into 1 and 2 I get video and audio perfectly fine I see the level meters working on the camera and I can play it back on the video camera and it's fine but then when I transfer the files I only get the video the audio does not transfer over do you think it's a memory card issue or is there something going on with the camera like I said it record the audio fine and video fine just does not transfer it from the memory card to my phone I have an adapter and I know that works fine so it's either the camera or the memory card

Strange. It should show all the individual files for each channel you record on plus the video and audio. Check settings cuz you can specify what files you wish recorded before shooting a video. Other than that ck the online owners manual
