The problem is the maps. It’s not the guns. As far as I could remember COD maps have used three base lanes, but had ways to close the gap on those lanes. Take Al Bagra for example. There’s literally a no man’s land in the middle of the map, with huge sight lines on it. Why would anybody in their right mind run a sub? It reminds me of Octane from Ghosts but worse. And the only reason Octane worked, was because guess what, WE HAD SMOKES. All this shit is fugaze tbh lol

Crazy to see people resist change bc it doesn't fix the problem entirely. 2 things. 1.) If you're making it better, then it's a positive change. All credit to Austin/Slasher as this was his whole point, and he is objectively correct. 2) Very rarely is one large significant change going to fully address and fix a complex, deep-rooted problem. Using smaller incremental changes that can be walked back individually is generally a better and more successful solution.

@21:00 slasher is right in the sense that those maps play better for subs, but really on in hp because you have to actually move around the map for rotations and what not, but search especially without dead silence as a perk it is very sit and hold angles with an AR heavy. Same with control it’s just all set up on the heady and hold the lane or trying to rip their ARs off of headies. The game plays too slow for SMGs to ever be more viable except for 20% of each map. Until the AR is the lachmann or the 545 it’s going to be a 3 AR meta just because ARs all kill too fast and if it switches to those ARs the vaz is gone too and then it’ll be the mp5 or mp7. The game as a whole is just not designed for subs to succeed in the sense of how they have been in the past.

Big facts that the vaz now wins the up close gun fights but it’s still just the map designs that enforce a 3 AR meta because it’s all long angles and very set up heavy for respawn.

Always could over the m4. M4 is a 4 bullet ~222 ms ttk, vaznev can 3 bullet with like a ~155 ms ttk. The scar can 3 bullet with a ~165 ms ttk if you hit the chest or head. Less forgiving than the m4 with the lower fire rate but higher frag potential than the m4. One benefit for the meta is that the scar is simply a better anti-headglitch gun with that ~165 ttk though. Pros always want to try to use consistent TTK guns it seems but the scar is more of a boom/bust type of gun and not usually what they go for. They should probably just use the lachmann tbh with its consistent 4 bullet ~240 ms ttk; thing is a laser beam to compensate though.

Idea doesn't really work. Having players pigeon holed into playing guns that they feel are inferior is just a no go with the pros and rightfully so; they'd just pick up ARs on bodies most of the time anyways. The guns need to balanced in such a way that there is an actual incentive to pick smgs over ARs.

Honestly the GA picking up weapons isn’t a bad idea. Ntm ammo boxes are allowed and have always been in the game…. Not hard to have 2 Deady, 1 trophy 1 ammo. And also the idea of making players use 2 ar’s and 2 smg’s is the best idea they can do. It’s nowhere near the same thing as banning picking up weapons like they were trying to say. Tom was lowkey the only cooked one that’s not cooked, if someone goes and physically picks up a dead players gun and makes a play with it that’s a good play… and very fair.
