Part of the reason I hate this update so much is how they didn't just make it a separate game/dimension entirely. SR4 was a comfort game for me before and the reason I played the main one as opposed to classic is because of the achievements. I still wish there was a way to play the original game with achievements, but this just...basically this update has made it so that I don't play SR4 anymore.

honestly if they want a sort of progression via having to earn something to progress to the next level, what they could do is add a setting that locks the end of the level and to unlock it you need to get a specific time on the level that you can set, so if you want to challenge yourself you could lock the end of the level and have it be unlocked if you complete it in let's say 30 seconds

Fun Fact: There is already a Speed Run 5 (different creator of course, it's not like one person owns the Speed Run series or something, unlike something like the Checkpoint series or Flood Escape series where there is one main creator managing most of the series), and it's already modernized with a heavily saturated art style, so Vurse doesn't even have the need to make a Speed Run 5. Every Speed Run game ever made was made by many different Roblox creators, and people can't tell apart the pseudo mainline Speed Run games from the "fakes", so that is why people think Speed Run 2 are 3 are jokes, especially 2, being the most obscure Speed Run game, as 3 has been played by a big KZbinr before. I don't blame people for believing that Speed Run 4 is a direct sequel to Speed Run 1, especially since the supposed 2 and 3 didn't have enough longevity as the "middle adopted children" of the Speed Run series (and also there were multiple Speed Run games with the same name, as well as Speed Run games with high numbers like 12 and 26 just to make the game appear superior, so of course it's confusing for people). I mean, 4 reuses some levels from 1, while 2 and 3 kind of have their own identity, especially for 3, it appears to be more of a giant obby facility with checkpoints and themed areas akin to a stage play rather than distinct levels like the other games.

My biggest issue with the update is that the update requires you to have pets to progress, of course unequipping them doesn't do anything but that's not the point. The new levels are great, I absolutely love the gameplay, it's just that it's really janky for no reason.. but I believe that there is a huge disconnect in the transition from 29->30 and it ends up being a sensory overload. Vurse should consider either a full refurbishment on the original 30 and make the original game or recreate 30-44 into the classic style and reinstate their designs into a separate dimension. Overall the update is really well done, I like the tricks and skips you can pull off and the gameplay feels more polished than before, but yet again, there still needs to be a lot of clean up. And one last thing, zombie mode past 30 is a fricking hellscape.

People are overhating this to DEATH, the pets doing even seem to do much i just ignored them and beat the levels normally. People complain nonstop about "the use of AI" when its literally only used on some ingame ui images, which just doesnt matter in the slightest. Something ill agree on is the design clash, but maybe give it time and he'll slowly rework the main levels and keep the classic ones in its own world for the og players. As a 3d artist, AI simply isnt good enough to come close to textures as of now, especially the in-house roblox one. Theres a lot of overall harm that comes from labeling hard work as AI just off a glance. Its easy to get caught up in that with how its been progressing however so I get it.
