Definitely one of my favorite zoos that you’ve covered! I love when zoos think outside of the box!

That was an amazing day we had, especially getting a chance to not only see my animal friends, but also seeing some fans at the Zoo! I can't wait to see where our adventures will take us next!
Local here! We go to the zoo almost every weekend. Usually we go with a another family or three. As members, we get in early (9 am) which allows us to see and do most things before nap time at noon. They also have some awesome events throughout the year, some adult only too. I think you hit the nail on the head with this zoo having heart! This is the happiest place in Florida, Disney can suck it!

You mentioned the emus when I was a little kid. I got to pet an emu at Hogle zoo in Utah.

Did a field trip to the Brevard zoo as a kid and took a few trips after. Loved it back then. Definitely going to have to go and check it out since I live like 15 minutes away

When I last went to the Brevard Zoo, the African portion was under construction and it was ~$11 for entry. My how the times have changed in a few years.

I flew from GA to visit this zoo last week. It is a small place but informative. I was super excited for the kayak tour; but unfortunately that particular team did not make me feel welcomed. They stayed on their cell phones and had absolutely no eye contact or smiles upon my and other guests' arrivals. Also, the tour guide didn't seem to care about our safety and rushed throughout the whole process/event. Thankfully, I didn't give up, decided to stay to make management aware of the situation, then turn my day around to a positive. My favorite exhibits were the birds and rainforest.

First time I was here, the African section was under construction. Hopefully I can go back to see the improvement. They also get an A for having two very good dogs.

The horticulture team does a fantastic job of taking care of the natural Florida landscape as well as adding pockets of color! They have also done a lot of work to help the conservation of butterflies, especially the endangered Atala butterfly!

lived next to this zoo all my life. its amazing, but it went through a period in its life where it severely outpriced the area for the amount of exhibits offered - but now it is a dumping ground for rich people to get tax cuts. which i actually appreciate in this instance because it has taken this zoo and skyrocketed the quality. not that the quality was ever bad. but like i said, it definitely was starting to outprice many locals, which leaves a _slightly_ bad taste in my mouth. getting a membership is definitely worth it. going early in the morning is good in any zoo, but due to the extremely low average guestcount, its not uncommon to see many animals playing and generally enjoying themselves (i mean you are literally garuenteed to see something you probably havnt seen before, last time i went i saw two sloths duking it out in the pathways that go above the viewing areas in the rainforest section) also, the train has always been an absolute classic and has barely changed over the years

You definitely missed out on the walk-through Barnyard in the Paws On section where you can pet the animals. It's nothing crazy, but it's more interaction and education opportunities as all of those animals are ambassadors

If your ever near it, you should check out the Oregon Zoo! It is very unique to me and is one of the better zoos anywhere near it.

Zach, I have a question for you. When are you going to do some tours of the zoos in the Bay Area? Also, could you please do more tours of Disney's Animal Kingdom?
@lesliechu88797 ай бұрын
Blimey! It was even cooler to kayak next to wildebeests! Visit the San Diego Zoo Safari Park soon, Zak! And here are 2 zoo trivia questions for you & your girlfriend... 1) Which zoo has astoundingly house Japanese Raccoon Dogs? 2) How many years did the Steinhart Aquarium at the California Academy Of Sciences house American Alligators before Claude the albino American Alligator made his new home in the newly renovated version?

My only complaint was the lack of George (Okapi) footage. He should have gotten at least 30 minutes all to himself, smh.
