I've been wanting a Zorki for more than a decade and finally bought a Zorki 4 off Etsy today! Thank you for your review, it helped me make my decision :)

I have had Zorkis since the 60s. Back then mail order dealers used to play a crafty little trick. The camera was advertised at what seemed to be a very cheap price, but the would be purchaser would discover there was a non-optional case which cost as much as the camera. You do get a lot of camera for not much money.

Really looking forward to using a 4k I bought today. Old Soviet cameras seem to be getting a bit more expensive? Love your videos, you talk good sense about cameras, no snobbery, just measured views.

Thank you for the interesting video. I prefer the earlier Zorki 4 and Mir cameras because they have strap lugs. Even with their added protection, I find ever ready cases awkward to use. Best of luck in finding your light leak or curtain travel trouble.

I hate ever ready cases and always found the Zorki one to be especially badly balanced.

Great video, have a Zorki 4 from 1957, think they first came out in 1956. I only use a case to transport and protect the camera. Once I'm shooting the case comes off.

The overexposed parts have appeared on the first roll i've ever shot with my Zenit too, but they went away on the second roll so i think some of these cameras just have their shutters getting stuck a little bit after they've been put away for who knows how long.

If those overexposed bars are also outside of image frame and on perforation then body is not 100% sealed but most probable cause is the same as with Zeniths - shutter second curtain movement is lagging.
