nami and usopp are really close since they're both cowardish. they always hug each other whenever they're afraid of something so the hand-holding doesn't seem so out of place. i like it!

Regarding Taz Skylar’s accent, that’s his natural accent. His mother is British, his father is Lebanese, and he grew up in the Canary Islands which are Spanish Islands off the African coast close to Morocco. As some one who comes from mixed parentage myself, and grew up travelling a lot, you can end up with a unique fluid accent, where different words are pronounced based around where you learned them and from who.
@thestarkster9940 Жыл бұрын
Agree, I love his accent. Not entirely English but with a little of islander spice mixed in, makes it more unique.

I can literally imagine Usopp and Nami doing that though, not in a romantic way but in a sibling way

Is that how westeners see holding hands mean "Love for eternity"?😂
@theradiantdehd39975 ай бұрын
@@crsmntmr392 Depends, but to some degree, yeah. It's not necessarily a sexual thing, but it's usually limited to one's parents, their kids, and their spouse/who they're dating. It's usually either to not get lost as a kid/to prevent your kid from getting lost, or a romantic gesture. Granted I can't speak for everyone, but as a dude living in the US, that has seemed to be the norm, at least around where I live.

Right?! Lying to make himself (and his friends) seem more grandiose is what Usopp does _all the time._ How can anyone who has seen him onscreen for even five minutes say that Usopp making himself (via Luffy) seem like hot shit isn't in character?
@rjai5003 Жыл бұрын
This adaptation took a lot of liberties so far, but I like how they kept this fight accurate to the original. They even used a lot of the same dialogue
@TrueGamer22887 Жыл бұрын
This is a bit of a nitpick, but it made me sad zoro didnt call him “king of the pirates”. Feel like that’s an important because it’s one of if not the only time someone calls luffy that not “he’s going to be king of the pirates” or an enemy mocking him, and I’m not even sure if any enemies do that. Maybe jimbei says it at one point but as far as most of the series goes, this is a big moment when zoro says this
@Caminski0417 Жыл бұрын
Nami and Usopp have held hands, hugged, and cried in each others arms constantly when they’re scared. If she had been there her and Usopp would have been watching the fight terrified together I have no doubt

The fact that they involved Garp so deep in the story this early is so wholesome to me, and that change explains so many things for the future that if you think about it will make the storytelling so much better for the future! It has so many positive things! Of course for people that already read the manga and watched the anime we will feel weird about it, but just think about it. We are able to bond with Garp earlier as a character, and his involvement makes him much relevant for the whole story, it opened the gate to not just introduce the Warlords but to show the relationship between the Marines and the Warlords, it opens up the ability to give more building for other characters like Koby and Helmeppo, and for future arcs they won’t have the need to waste episodes showing mini stories or using an episode to explain what other characters are doing, this makes Garp an important Character, since in the Manga and the anime he was never truly important for the main story until much later and for his flashbacks, this way he now have part to play in Luffys development as a pirate in the present and not just in the flashbacks! And ALL this will benefit new fans to this amazing story!
@Dark3251 Жыл бұрын
I agree with you on that note. Garp was only introduced to give a glimpse for Coby and Helmeppos training in the Mange/Anime. He was there from "the beginning" but not involved with Luffy. I really like this change because he can now take Arlong to Marine Headquarters/Impel Down (however you see fit) and the story can continue till Water Seven without a problem. Or and thats just me thinking about other changes: We won't see Dragon helping Luffy in Loguetown but Garp because he is on his way to the Grand Line. That would be a big big stretch but possible. Altough we saw Dragon on Rogers execution so I think they won't change his apperance in Logue Town. Man I am hyped for the second season. I never could imagine an Live-Action-Show would me get that excited.

Yes, Garp and Sengoku are pretty much the two strongest members of the Marines. But like Garp said, he's never gone for a promotion because he refuses to become a full puppet. He likes his freedom.

I love Sanji's actor, I think he does a great job even though he didn't get a lot of show time this episode
@chukss_ Жыл бұрын
Exactly what you point out about Kobys getting involved “outside” the Marines it has relevance, thats why this change where we see more about Garp and Koby so early on its a positive change for future seasons, because with this little details they are indirectly and effectively shrinking future incidents thar we know are coming in a way that feels natural and that makes sense. Oda is a f*cking genius!
@jaycol21 Жыл бұрын
Yes. Garp would have been fleet admiral. But he didn’t want any role above vice admiral because then he’d have to play politics and run errands for the celestial dragons. Vice admiral was as high as he could go and not deal with bs. Garp has lost a step very recently. But, he was the strongest Marine for decades with Sengoku being #2

I really really enjoy what they did with zeff and garp. The idea of the new generation rising up is something that’s super important to the story and if they hadn’t added this we wouldn’t really have a natural way to get it here. It’s something we really don’t get a main focus on until Rayleigh and shanks a little before the time skip.

My only complaint is Zoro's reaction when seeing Mihawk, his ultimate goal, standing right in front of him, he barely even reacts, like it's just another opponent like any other. On the topic of changes, I feel like some of them are what Oda would do if he could start over, like better setting up things that happen much later on. A lot of the changes I nitpick about, but overall it makes some really good changes.

I remember hearing of which races or nations certain characters could be portrayed as. Without a doubt, Zoro is Japanese. I think Usopp is African. I don’t remember, but I think Nami is Swedish. I definitely don’t remember Luffy, but it might’ve also been Japanese. That’s the best I can remember. I don’t even remember if I saw it myself or heard it from one of the channels that cover popular manga and anime. ***Spoiler*** I thought Sanji was supposed to be French, but English works. Robin is Brazilian.

Yeah Sengoku and Garp were around the same level back in the day, but they're not in their prime anymore, Garp himself says at the end of ennies lobby he has gotten a lot weaker. So the present admirals should be stronger than them.

The Mihawk actor is a totle smoke show... I barely remember what happened after I saw him on the screen. All his for me is just those biceps and ridiculously huge sword that he just swings around willy nilly. I don't think I want to see this person in real life. I think it would break my brain. I don't think I will be able to look at other human beings and not think I'm in a horror movie with monsters because this one person exists! What the f***. Life is Definitely not fair! People that look like that should only exist in books in an imagination. For them to be a reality is to actually break dimensional reality. I truly believe that I am broken from now in my life 🙃 apparently there is knowledge that you do not need to know... I did not need to know that that man exists

Yeah Garp is also strong and on the same level as Sengoku. Making Garp one of potential candidate of Fleet Admiral position. Makes sense that you were surprised, because you have not finish Marineford war arc and still on Thriller Bark. But Garp never take that position and let Sengoku be the one in charge because I think Garp is slightly older?? I think Garp let Sengoku lead the entire Marines just because he is younger.

I honestly don’t like the actor for Zoro. Imo this actor just doesn’t suits him. I think more masculine actor would suit for Zoro’s role much better. But that’s just my opinion, and of course no claims to this actor and/or creators of the show
@sirpomegranate2446 Жыл бұрын
I couldn't disagree more. Imo, Zoro vs Mihawk was one of the worst changes the anime ever made. It complete destroyed the impact of the fight and the strengthening of the bond between luffy and zoro. In the live action all members of the crew were just a couple feet away from the fight, just watching, in the original, it was only luffy and he was much further away. The live action takes away from the tension of the battle with this change including all the other changes like zoro saying the "wounds on the back" line before turning instead of saying it as mihawk is going in to slash him may not seem like that big of a difference but it makes zoros actions feel a LOT less impactful. And maybe one of, if not the worst change was luffy's reaction, in the anime luffy actually thought zoro died, in the l.a on the other hand he was just shocked. I know lots of the issues come with the medium but nonetheless they could have handled the fight a lot better.
