Great card, I've had it since late 2016 early 2017 - still performs well, though now looking at benchmarks of the RTX cards, the performance difference really shows between the mid 10XX cards and the mid-high end 20XX cards. I will say this - if you want to game at 1080p, this card is great for you; If you want to game at 1440p, you can with this card, though ultra settings "might" struggle keeping some games at 60fps, so lower your settings to Very High/High and that will help; If you are like me and now play at 1440p and you want better than just 60fps, time to look at upgrading.

I love mine, and yes that yellow stripe is a take it or leave it thing. I found that with red lighting inside the case it made it blend in with my white MB, you can't tell it's yellow anymore. It is a monster, just fits in my HAF X case has maybe 3cm of clearance on the back. Also think about getting some sort of GPU brace or you will get major sag. I got lucky and found a STL for one and had a buddy print it for me. Very happy with my purchase.

I picked up this card at Micro Center in Atlanta for $429 for a Mini-ITX build. This card is MASSIVE. Unfortunately, the case I picked up isn't big enough for it: Thermaltake V1. I'm trying to find the smallest "cube" ITX case that would house this card. My son just finished Air Force BMT and off to tech school. Omar Jubran if you're a content creator, get the I7, if not: get the I5 6600k. If you're getting an overclocking processor, you need a motherboard with a Z170 chooser.

Well explained. What would you recommend a CPU for zotac gtx 1070 ti amp extreme for my build? I am trying to avoid the least of bottleneck between the gpu and cpu. 1080/1440p is what I am planning to play at, 144hz monitor.

The only practical point of this card is if used for LN2 fun. The voltage is locked at 1.093 and no way (yet) to change it without soldering something. Otherwise, it's a complete overkill. It is ugly - subjective, it is HUGE - objective, and priced too high - objective. I don't think it runs much quieter or cooler than let's say EVGA GTX 1070 SC Black Edition which is 50$ less. Unfortunately I had to buy a card 2 month ago since my old one has died and I got the EVGA SC "normal" for 440 which was the lowest price available. It runs the same 2088 overclocked, it runs out of the box at 1980Mhz on just turbo boost + power limit to 120%. While it was on air, it was in lower 60C with over 30C ambient. With current pascal cards, get the cheapest with decent cooling with good warranty terms is the way to go. They all work exactly the same.

I got it a week ago or so and noticed that my temperature ratings are a bit different to yours. I guess it is because I got a define S case with a dual 140mm fan radiator in front of the card. In ambient temperature of 25 degrees I get Idle temp of around 35 degrees and load (gaming) of 55 degrees more or less. So A good airflow in the case helps a lot! (This is with the radiator fans running at around 800 RPM) After a lot of thinking what to buy I am happy I bought the 1070, it is a lot cheaper here compared to the 1080 of the same type and has awesome performance. Conclusion: I would do it again (1070>1080)

really really really really really well put together review. Great cinematography and colouring. But I see a lot of discrepancies between your benchmark results and other ones. Only Issue I have with the backplate is the yellow stripes. No point in having a monochromatic shroud design and implementing RGB lights if you are just going to slap a bunch of yellow on the backplate... Not like you can replace the backplate either since there is that power boost chip sticking out like a sore thumb... Really wish manufacturers would think about RGB before putting it on something that would not benefit from it.

I like the style of the backplate. A white neutral color scheme would have been so much better than the yellow one though. If you don't have a window - you don't care. If you have one (utulising the feature "colored backplate") then you probably want some color coordination with the rest of the system. And hardly anyone choose yellow. Are there even yellow themed motherboards out there? Yellow case fans? If there's not, it's probably because not that many people like yellow...

Firestorm software is not even nearly good. The fan curve does not apply to GPU bios so restarting PC will result in fan spinning again at default speed. I contacted Zotac support and they admitted the software limitation saying that "an update is on the way". For now I'm using Evga Precision X to control fan speed.

My favourite design of Zotac's is the 'regular' 1070 AMP, non extreme edition. Just a nice design with 2 fans, and the back plate looks a lot nice without the "PUSH THE LIMITS" on it. That's just my opinion though.

How is the core OC frequency good news? It's the exact same as every other GP104 core. Hell, as long as the thermals are well under control, so far, any GP104 card has hit and maintained identical frequencies. Even the incessant complaints about the single 8-pin connectors were pretty unfounded seeing as voltage and TDP are capped pretty hard. VBios modding can maybe take advantage of all the fancy VRM solutions, but there's good reason to believe that extra voltage might not yield a whole lot on 16nm FinFet, unless you're doing LN2 and such. Again, just nothing to write home about.

Hi, Hmmmmm am just wondering these two company Amd and Nvidia gpu's I've been thinking to get Nvidia for a next year! Yes I heard the nvidia is the fastest gpu by far. But I've got the and 7970 gpu with in before I use to have geforce by nvidia but it doesn't play avi files on windows media player with windows 7. But with the new gtx 10 series dose it play avi files on windows media player ? Yellow fans are almost impossible to find. However, you could easily switch the leds in the fans, so that wouldn´t be that much of a problem as long as you don´t mind modifying the fans.

It would work really well in any white/black/grey build with white LEDs. The yellow works as a nice highlight. Something like the grey Phanteks Eclipse. I could see it in a blue case with white LEDs as well. Something like a Bitfenix Aegis.

4:48 you can see a probleme this card has. If you try to run the fan under 30% speed, it will slow down and speed up again periodically , this can be fixed with a custom fan curve but is not so good for your standard consumer who might think the card is broken. Hope zotac can fix this. Otherwise a great card to own .

Sir how can your Idle be so high Hardware Canucks? Mine is 23 c No watercooling even. Is the faithful 500R case from corsair that great in cooling =P? In load i never reach in heavy games over 58c. I never even heard the fan spin, only time is when i forced it had loads of programs open to see if it even worked cause i were afraid. But nope no witcher 3/doom and so on on highest 3440x1440p have ever pushed this over 58c So i found it were strange urs is 55ish on idle ;o (no custom profile even made)

for me the difference in cost just wasn't worth it for the 1080 as the 1080 is substantially more costly than this 1070 extreme. The 1070 extreme is a sensible and wise compromise when taking into account the much lower cost and your only giving away 5 to 15 fps on average to the more costly 1080. I now own this 1070 extreme edition and I am very happy with it. thanks for the review

It seems my MSI 1070 Gaming X is managing higher boosts than the Zotac. I get 1949 Mhz and 4008 on the memory. Also I hover around 66-67 degrees and for a card with 2 fans...that is damn impressive.

I just have the zotac logo turned off and the armor on white. Through my side panel I can only see the white "Push the limit" and it looks fine. I have the 1080 instead of the 1070, but the idea stays the same.

Tear it down please. Show us it's inside. Tell us how many phases of power it actually has. For example Evga FTW has 8+2, while founders' edition only has 4+1. That will decide how cool the MOSFET will run and the card logevity and overclock ability. Zotac does not state it on their own website.

i have this gpu and its Amazing one of the best or should i say one of the best 1070 ive ever own.. i have Asus Strix 1070 trifan OC, Galax HOF 1070, Gigabyte trifan OC 1070, Galax Exoc White 1070 and MSI Gaming X before.. but Zotac AMP Extreme Edition 1070 is the most powerful of all.. the looks is not the best but hey performance over aesthetics plus this card is super quite ive tested gaming 2hours (triple a games) like PUBG, Division 2, Metro Exodus,Monster Hunter while my case is open i could not here any fan noise .. i prefer zotac amp extreme design over palit superjetstream and the gigabyte..

I would love to see a lot more benchmarks include 3440x1440 ie ultrawide monitors. I have 2 of these in my setup. The fps is so rubbish with 4k monitors that I feel ultrawide is the way to go for the time being, its just so hard to get the benchmarks
