I am looking at ROG X and Legion GO. Still can't decide which one to go for.

The upgraded version of this device which you can only import from China costs between 1,100 & 1,300. Meaning, a device of this size with a high refresh rate & a OLED display & one of the brand new AMD mobile chips, which are depending on the chip somewhere between 5fps & 10fps faster. The premium stuff from China does have more RAM, but you want to pay $300 to $500 more for that? I think the pricing is fair the timing is bad. In a saturated market I just have too many devices already lool too many things like this with a 7000 or 8000 series chip, even w/o the display.

The pricing is fair but premium devices like this aren’t believed to be sellable in North America. I guess someone wants to prove it one way or another. Stuff like this is really only supposed to be in China b/c within that market ppl will actually pay for it.

Thanks for this test, it seems to me that, apart from the Oled screen that is in Zotac Zone, Rog Ally X is a better console.

@GadgetGuardians669 After all the reviews I've seen, Zotac stands out with its Oled screen, it's a fact, but Rog Ally X is better in terms of: RAM, Battery, Performance (I think Rog Ally , thermals), Better software, is quieter under heavy load, has VRR (Zotac sometimes lacks it when frames drop) and being cheaper than Zotac at least in the UK. Are you keeping your Zotac or selling it?

I dont even think the Oled is a better screen. Its better to look at when watching a movie, but gaming? Without VRR on these handhelds which cant maintain a steady fps you will most definitely get a worse experience then with VRR. Until we have Oled screens in this size with VRR its not worth switching over

@@creaturecore13not true. The oled screens are way ahead of the Rog ally X's. I have both, even with VRR the ally X screen is too dull compare to Oled

I'm also curious what Zotac will do in the event of poor sales (which is quite real considering the fact price = quality), or whether they will simply abandon the product after some time, in the case of Asus or Lenovo, which are planning to release another series of handhelds soon, the plus is that rather does not abandon work on software.

I dont think they will abandon the product as they already did the RnD for it. The next product with the new cpu will be pretty much the same just with a new mobo and the new chip. Once the product is done the yearly changes do not cost anywhere near as much for the company.

Do you know when the refreshes are? I just bought a oculink/type-c gpu dock for my 7900 gre, I don't want to buy one and then the new luanch hits

@@asmrecap No one knows, but the first handheld with the new cpu's will be the onexfly coming out supposedly in december. But its so over priced its insane. My guess is the major companies are going to wait until amd releases a cheaper Z2 chip instead like they did with the z1 vs the 7840u.

@@creaturecore13 I want a legion go with the same current display, 24-32gb of 7200 or above ram, the ai 9 hx 370 cpu, and 2 terabytes of storage. Oculink would be a nice addition but i suppose thats asking for too much. Anyways I am waiting for now and plan on using the legion go refresh as my main pc paired with my 7900gre

How the Camara changed into the right when the early videos it was in the lift, I had friends had ally x they said the ps4 controller or any controller doesn't connect good is because the windows software on steam deck the controller connect so easy as android controller, this device price was the same one x fly oled even though the fly had 32gb+ ram and new ai so I found fly oled better choice

@@evilcrashbandicootthetouho2753 Where? In the UK, Zotac costs £850 and OneXFly is well over £1,000. Looking at the prices, I wouldn't buy either Zotac or OneXFly, I would just wait for next year and what Asus and Lenovo will show with the Z2 chip.

I still cant understand that black bars around the screen in nearly 2025.. make screen little bigger instead OR just make more plastic, so at least it doesnt hurt your eyes. Look at asus rog X, just for black plastic you dont notice that blalck bars and it feels 100 times more premium console than original asus ally.

Nah, this handhelds worth no more then 200$, you guys need to understand that they found a way to implement cheap hardware in a small form factor that can be selled as a handheld, imagine the hardware from this Zotac or Rog Ally put in a laptop, it would be a very basic and cheap laptop probably in the 200-400$ range, so why we should pay more? They use basic hardware, nothing expensive, they use less plastic, less materials in general, so why on earth we pay 800$ for an Rog Ally?
