Great review. For the people who dismiss these inexpensive meters out of hand they miss out on the improvements that have occurred over the past few years. I got my first multimeter for 50$ and while it was a good unit it cost the same as this unit and didn't have an oscilloscope! It had a hard to read low contrast display. It ran on a 9 volt battery that you had to unscrew the rear cover to remove and recharge. This multimeter has a really bright display with the needle function for all you Simpson guys. The battery can be recharged with a simple USB cable plugged into any USB output. You can remove the 200 ma battery and replace it with say a 500 and double your battery run time. It can do screen caps which it can store on it's built in memory and export to a computer over USB as a bitmap. And I've seen teardowns showing the internal construction of the unit and the quality is really quite good. So for a hobbyist who wants to do some DIY projects with breadboards and Arduinos this is a great meter to use for probing various parts of a circuit to see what's going on. The scope function would be useful in projects with audio outputs for measuring frequency and also for looking at PWM signals in motor control circuits for all you robotics guys. For the newbie to electronics this is like the Swiss Army Knife of multimeters! And I think this unit is actually made by Aneng and rebranded. I have a Rigol 2 channel DSO and a Rigol bench multimeter but I think I'm going to get one of these to replace my old handheld.

I picked this meter up recently from Amazon to supplement my main scope. For doing some AC power supply work and not worrying about ground issues. If I do something stupid and blow up this meter/scope that is better than damaging my expensive scope.

It is more than enough for everyday tasks and the measurement accuracy is very good. I have been using it for about 1 month and I am very satisfied.

That ZOYI has a nice display and a nice rounded shape. I bought the OWAN 100 MHz scope-meter a year or so ago, which is nice too but is comparatively boxy. I like having a hand held scope for automotive diagnostics an for when I need isolation, alternate to using a differential probe. Its also nice having a meter on the bench that does not keep timing out, assuming it is pugged into USB, especially since I don't own a bench meter.
