There is nothing better to start my day than watching a Yana Hot Foiling video. If I ever have a foiling issue Yana has a video with the answer.

You are the first video that has determined that I’m a convert. Spellbinders will likely be my choice. Glimmer machine. Can I use it with a big shot.

Very helpful as I've been trying to foil something 3 times and couldn't figure out why it wasn't working until you mentioned the weight of the paper used to be foiled was important. And that I believe is what my problem was. Thanks so much for all of you helpful tips, especially making the hinge so the foil doesn't move.

Your tips have been great for me as I am new to the system. I especially liked the hinge trick. It has saved me a lot of frustration. Would love tips and storage ideas for the foil tubes.

I just bought my Glimmer machine, Yana! After shopping for hot foil plates, I had my first play... not such great results! So happy to have all of your tips - back to the drawing board! AFTER watching which papers work the best! Thanks, Yana! xx

I played 3 times and my results are awful. Im so sad. I really wish i was good at it, im doing exactly what everyone does in videos and i use the hammermill paper too. I wish it worked well for me :(

My issue was tremdous amount of "under foiling" like it's not even adhering to the paper. Id love if my only issue was over foiling:(

Hi Yanna. My glimmer hot foil system from spellbinders. The ready light does not flash, and know Spellbinders won't replace or fix. The machine works fine. Do you know how long i should leave plate and paper before I run it through my die cutting machine? The green light hot notification works. Just the flashing and stop flashing does not work. Beautiful card and your line and cards are classy...just like you.

Hi Yana... love your tutorials. Question, can you use photo paper for hot foiling? Thanks so much
@Yana.Smakula2 жыл бұрын
Oh absolutely! Glossy photo paper foils perfectly! But, I would advise putting a sheet of scrap paper onto glimmer hot surface as the heat may melt the glossy coating of the photo paper and photo paper might stick to glimmer surface
@louisejohnson18982 жыл бұрын
@@Yana.Smakula Thanks so much, I'm glad you mentioned that...I would not have known. I just bought my machine and some of your wonderful dies. I'm looking forward to using them and hopefully they will be 1/10th as beautiful as yours.

I watch all your videos for hot foiling and have learned so much. I need to know how to store my hot foil plates so I know what I have. Can you please give me some ideas. Thank you
@Yana.Smakula2 жыл бұрын
I store them the same way I store my dies - I cut chipboard to 6x6", adhere a magnetic sheet on top and stick my plates there. I have them all sit on the top shelf of my rolling cart. You can look up magnetic sheets on Amazon. I have a craft room tour video on my channel, it shows it briefly.
@TheKaydie2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your reply, I have my hot foil plates on magnetic sheets but don't know what some of the plates like words say. If when I am hot foiling would like to be able to go to the sheet and have the words I want. Do you have a sheet that shows what words are on what magnetic sheet? I am sorry to go on and on just trying to explain myself. I appreciate all the help you can offer.
@Yana.Smakula2 жыл бұрын
I don't have a sheet like that. But I imagine you could foil the words on a scrap piece and adhere it from the back of your magnetic sheet. You could even adhere a storage pocket and keep any extra foiled pieces in there. In fact, I think I am going to try it.
@TheKaydie2 жыл бұрын
Thank you will have to try, I just like to know what I have so I don't have to go all through the stamps.

Thanks for the tips! I've only hot foiled a couple things. I just moved to New Zealand; most of my craft stuff is still on a ship crossing the ocean (it left in August but now arrival pushed back to January! ugh!). How are things where you are? I really hope you are all doing well!

Oh wow that is a loooooong transit. I hope you get your goodies soon. Things could be better down here. We only have electricity 8 hours a day(4 during the day and 4 during the night). And it us winter. So tough. But I don't want to complain
@MaryPrasadArt Жыл бұрын
@@Yana.Smakula Definitely a long transit! But is it beautiful here and the people are super friendly. You have every right to complain. I feel so bad for you and your countryfolk having to go through that. I am thinking about all of you and how tough it must be - very much hoping things get better soon!

Thanks so much for all the great information and tips, Yana! I have a question about the two cutters that come with the foil trimmer set. I know one is marked for foil and one is marked for paper, but do you see a visual difference between the two blades? Or maybe they are the same blade in each holder, but marked separately so we keep each one dedicated for its purpose?

i put the foil upside down and got foil on my solid plate. Help...how do I get it off or does it matter?
@Yana.Smakula2 жыл бұрын
It doesnt matter, I've done it a bunch of times. You can remove it if it bothers you, using an adhesive remover such as Un-du. Just dont scrape the plate
