My Advice: get Google Launcher (and Google keyboard if you want to), and you're good to go. I've been using the A7m for around a month now and I still love it. It's fast, powerful, and good for day to day use. the audio is (just as expected) Glorious, although I really wished the camera would be better. it has good Zoom with the 16 Megapikels, but if you Zoom on a little bit you can definitely see that there's a lot of grain. But still, for 300 bugs a great phone.

Disappointed with the phone. The Axon 7 has an earned reputation of excellence. The Mini is way behind. The Blade V8 strikes me as better (and cheaper) phone. Great video. Thumbs up!

I was interested in the top end 500 dollar axon 7 model but decided on the oneplus3T after noticing all they did was stick more ram and larger storage in the phone. I ended up getting the 128GB model of the 3T and its fantastic. I probably would have gone with the Axon had they put in the 821 and clocked the GPU a little more like oneplus. To be fair Axon could have used that little extra power to help with that quad HD display. I've held the 3T next to quad HD displays and you can slightly notice the difference but its not worth how much harder that quad HD display is on the process, GPU and battery for as heavily as I like to game on my phone when im not at home on my computer. I prefer the smooth experience the 3T provides. When you compare these two phones its not a this one is better then that one its about what features you prefer.

if zte were to include the snapdragon 625 instead of the 617 in the axon 7 mini, the battery life would be about as good as the 820 used in the regular axon 7

The Mini is just a nerfed Axon 7 because the US carriers fucked them over and they had to slow production on the 7 and make bank somehow. This is the true reason 8 never came out, and why they're mum on 9. Carriers burned ZTE hard. They went all in on a great phone and we screwed them and spat at their reputation unfairly as compensation. The mini is just a last ditch effort in making some money back because the Axon 7 was too much phone for too unwilling a market. The damn thing has CDMA and Band 13 for Verizon in it and the carriers screwed them.

I'm really gald for the tradeoffs they made. The regular has an alround perfect hardware package. When scaling down ZTE could have gone three ways: keeping the best specs possible and sacrificing the premium features (screen, audio, camera and build); trying to cut everything a little bit; or sacrificing specs (cpu, ram and storage) and keeping an awesome screen, audio and hardware. IMO the audio and screen make the axon 7 far superior over the oneplus 3. You can find enough beast under $300 and most brands try to get an alround experience. Only ZTE offers a fineass phone like this for $250. Sure it is slow, but it's also the only phone under $300 acceptable for an audiophile like me.
