I'm so glad you mentioned racism towards us by liberals. Tbh I live in a very liberal city & have extreme leftist friends & it's gotten to the point where I'm a prop. Everyone wants to stand beside me in group pix so they can show they've got a minority friend on the gram. Also the bigotry of low expectations is real. We're all ivy-league professionals & I have as many privileges as they do, yet if there's a dinner convo about university admissions everything just expects that we all must support affirmative action (what you in the UK call positive discrimination). They also act like I'll be triggered by discussions involving certain topics. These white liberals really do view us as lesser people. The message of conservativism - that everyone can pull themselves up by the bootstraps - might be somewhat simplistic & overly optimistic, but at least it's empowering & not outright racist. Our communities need to choose positive narratives
@JoeSmith-iv3sf4 жыл бұрын
What I discovered moving from a suburbs of the city growing up and living in the city from time to time as an adult, when I moved from city to far out in country. The ppl have so much in common w minorities in the inner city the only major difference is skin color. The poor in these no where communities while being drastically white suffer with horrible education systems. Massive drug problems, particular meth and heroin. Along w lots of broken families. The kids in this town had to take drug test at school to have a parking permit for the High school kids. The difference between that and cities was the billions in tax revenue brought in all around them. The giant Hospitals, colleges, sports teams, extremely large businesses w 100' s if not 1000's of employees. The vast majority of ppl that make it out of that or succeed literally put work boots on everyday. This is the huge echo chamber\ difference that your ivy league friends are not seeing w their arguments on Racism, immigration, sexism, etc. It's like they decided that well "I" am not gonna cut lawn and oh it's racist to have black ppl do it for $10 bucks an hour and frankly they won't do it anyway. So what we need a "New" permanent lower class of ppl that will work to cut your lawn or clean your house for $10 bucks an hour. Well would those " Black ppl" do it for $15 bucks an hour $20? Aren't they capable of actually opening their own business and doin for themselves. One of my best friends families growing up had a lawn care business and made close to half million dollars a year. Free college is useless if everyone goes. Colleges aren't teaching ppl how to think they are teaching you what to think.

Some people with gender dysphoria do indeed grow out of it. However if its intact permanent then transition is often the way to deal with it.

I think there was a study that said something like 70% or 80% of people with gender dysphoria grow out of it. Also a lot of leftists are pushing for hormone blockers to be given to children, which not only causes lasting problems with growth and development, it also brings that 70% or 80% down to 0%. I think anyone who believes they are transgender should go to therapy before they do anything because a lot of people end up regretting transitioning. I also think you should be at least 18 before you take any hormones/ hormone blockers or have any surgeries done.

I like this conversation because it talks about celebrating the differences between men and women and our own unique traits that we bring to the table. ..for me...Being able to develop a child in your body and nurture that child after it's born giving it all the substance it needs from your own body is a superpower. I am a liberal at heart and asexual to boot, but I never associated with the LGBTQ+ community in any way. Two reasons are that I have never been fond of anyone speaking on my behalf even if they mean well. I'd rather pick my own battles, have my own achievements and mistakes and learn from them so I can grow rather than have someone do it for me on my behalf and especially since we are all unique individuals,with our own interests, experiences, ambitions and goals in life. I am no better representing you, as you are representing me. But also exactly this observation I made years ago of growing doublestandard towards different groups. When a progressive is calling a conservative African American uncle Tom, in what way is that any different from calling an African American with the n-word. Either you do none out of principle, or you are not being honest about yourself to yourself and to others. I understand that different communities have experienced a lot of pain and that causes grief, but be productive and just. More importantly be the bigger person and lead by example. At the moment the LGTBQ+ community is starting to remind me of a quote: "Beware when fighting monsters, see that in the process you yourself do not become a monster. For when you gaze upon the abyss, the abyss gazes back at you." - Friedrich Nietszche.

I have been struggling with Gender Dysphoria since I was quite young and then the sexual confusion that come with that. I was well on my way to making the full transition but after more personal research I realized that I would not be able to finish for many reasons and I would have to fiend another way to come to grips with my internal struggles. I found that in the community you can get support and feel good being part of a group but then when I began to get older and I began to see inconsistencies in the liberals message and behavior yet others where not seeing the hypocrisy, But saying it and your turned on and they would not even look at another point. Over the last few years how badly the Democrats are acting all across the country had opened my eyes to them as well and now I must walk Away. Once upon a time, I did none of these things. I was incredibly homginized, followed a line, picked a side, Believed that my side would never lie. How wrong I was. I am now free of that narrow minded useless frame of thought. Walking between worlds is freedom. I'll take one step at a time. Work with anyone who wants to take that step with me. Whats worse than denying facts is celebrating the reverse in a way that teaches kids to aspire to do something not healthy. Back in the day you could say it was wrong for Hollywood to have the coolest character in their movie smoking cigarettes as part of their character, or now with marvel pushing out a fat super hero. We should never down grade a person for who they are, but we also shouldn't try to make it so kids aspire to be that person. The problems we are facing today is being caused by equality being attained by law. So now activist don't have anything to scream about on the social front so they are literally coming up with ridiculous stuff that will never be accepted. Some of the crap that has been pushed in the past couple of years is like fantasy vs reality. A person is a mix of feminine and masculine traits both mentally and physically. Maybe in a man named Jim down the street feels he is trans woman because he is more feminine than masculine. I've never subscribed to the notion a certain man was born in the wrong body, because how would he even know? Its not like he is the thing he subscribes to be without being that person?

She seems to be presenting an olive branch of sorts to the sjw types (not that it will in any way benefit her) with the whole concept of attempting to present as your currently decided upon gender, or 'pass', in order to earn her approval to do so. This just seems to me inherently problematic, as (among many other things) there are extremely unfortunate males who can look extremely feminine, as well as unfortunate females who would 'pass' as male... all of this having absolutely no impact whatsoever on their genetics, gender, or sex. The entire premise is based from the ground up on completely specious and incoherent ideology...which is why it's not at all surprising that it seems to be entirely within the far left, where they almost seem to take pride in a prevalence of incoherent ideas, policy prescriptions, and an apparent complete lack of willingness to learn from humanities past (although that last one does seem to be a problem among most).
