Living in California have been in a few earthquakes. I owned a Foster's Freeze (soft serve ice cream and food) when we had a bad quake one time no one had electricity so we put up a earthquake menu! Sold everything that did not require cooking. All other places closed up (Jack in the box, McDonalds, etc) We sold out of every thing we were so busy. Enjoy your videos. Very educational.

I must say I have taken the time to watch two videos of Growing Up Without Boarders. I say travel is my class room. I love how she has her girls learn through this. I didn't even know about the 10 hour watch. I learned something new tonight. LOVE. This is why I totally started my foundation of building mztravelinghips, so my kids could have, and know something. Thank you.

I just started today watching your videos today. This is the third one I have seen on Switzerland my favorite dream country I wish to see. Because of my handicap and use of walker I will never get to see it. So I live in Kansas City Kansas so I watch all the Switzerland and different videos on many countries daily on KZbin.com. Switzerland is my favorite and then Norway. Thank you for sharing your videos and the exciting things you have seen and done. Your girls are beautiful and its good to see how they enjoy making the videos as much as the traveling and learning of the different things they have seen. I will try to see all the ones on Switzerland first then view the rest. God bless and keep you all always.

I stayed in the Dolder Grand once.It was very nice!. There were double doors back to back at the entry for each room. I haven't seen that before. I think it is done that way to make the rooms more sound-proof. I asked for and bought one of their old room keys.It is an enormous heavy key.

The stairs on the Uetliberg tower used to be free. But when the hotel owner extended his hotel without a license and had to take it down again and pay a fine, he started charging for climbing the stairs. The Lindt place you visited in Klichberg wasn't just a shop but the actual factory. The whole street sometimes smells like chocolate. Lindt chocolate bought abroad is usually also made in a factory abroad and tastes noticeably different (not as good). That was fun to watch even though I live there!
@GrowingUpWithoutBorders3 жыл бұрын
That’s interesting what you say about the taste being different. We noticed that especially in the US. They don’t use the same ingredients. I’m just imagining right now what it would be like to smell chocolate when you’re walking outside 🤩😋 Glad you enjoyed the tour of your hometown!

I got interested with the Strassebourg video. I used to live across the river from there and went to Mamuth (mammoth) food store there in the late 1970's. The cheese aisle was the largest i have ever seen in my life. Durinrel looks like it has expanded a lot too , another awesome video. This video is cool too. Mounds of all of the Lindor chocolates , wow i would have spent money there. I would love to have seen a look inside the boat with the sewing machines myself. I have 22 machines all over 100 years old. There is a museum of sewing machines in Switzerland in i would love to go to in Durten, just south of Zurich. I am subscribing!!! such fun. I am from Canada.

That’s amazing! Wasn’t that neat that boat with sewing machines on it? I think it was a special “event” that you can tour the lake while learning to sew. We’re originally from ON, Canada. Thanks for subscribing!

@GrowingUpWithoutBorders6 жыл бұрын
Yes we need to come back again to visit it since we ran out of time. I'll look up Verkehrshaus since I have not heard of it yet.
@MrFirderis6 жыл бұрын
Both are worth a single day. At the Verkehrshaus, just for example, you could also visit an IMAX-cinema. www.verkehrshaus.ch/en/home.html www.technorama.ch/en/home If you ever would like to visit Basel and have a private tour guide (without mention or shown at the video itself), I would be pleased to help :)

Not really an amusement park. The closest real park would be in Rust Germany...not too far away and it's called Europapark. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jGrbpXiwqZiGirc

Hows switzerland in the winter to live? Do you still go out and do activities or is it too cold?
@GrowingUpWithoutBorders6 жыл бұрын
Many people spend time in the Alps and enjoy skiing and all the other winter sports. They have outdoor and indoor skating rinks in different cities. There are still outdoor markets and during Christmas time the Christmas markets of course. The temperature all depends on where you visit some areas of the country don’t go much below 0°C Zurich however would be colder.
