Thank you for doing this Jon. No way I would be able to contend with you guys at the front as I would be a B rider when and if I can get the timing right to get into a race. Looking forward to it!

62 years old, average about 4,000 miles each season. I just heard about Zwift and Wahoo Kickr today at my sports doctor. I have been using the standard Kinetic trainer and 4 spinervals DVD's. I am not computer savy, but ready to buy. I have an old Dell laptop. I have the 5s iPhone. A pretty new Vizio 50" TV. So is this hard to hook up and "understand to use" ? I'm an avid cyclist...... during the spring, summer, early fall, but indoors the rest.... Who can I talk to about all this NEW TECH. I'm sure this is all easy for you younger cycling pups. THANKS!

KEITH C The only thing you have left (in addition to what you have mentioned) to get you started is an ANT+ dongle. You can search for them at Amazon or even eBay (try: www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=ANT%2B+dongle). The software can help walk you through the setup. Also, get on Facebook and join Zwift Riders group (facebook.com/groups/zwiftriders/). They are a great bunch of people who will be willing to help you.

Jonathan Pait if he has an old laptop his graphic card ain't gonna be up for it.

Ok, so if I have the Ipad mini hooked up to the HDMI, that should work...... correct? Without using the computer. The ANT+ will sync from the Wahoo Kickr to the Zwift app then by way of the HDMI connected from the ipad mini to the TV, then that should work?
@jpait9 жыл бұрын
KEITH C Unfortunately, there is no Zwift software for the iPad currently. You would need to use a laptop or desktop system. The ANT+ would go into your computer and would pick up the signal from your Kickr. You could then plug your TV into the computer... this is easiest if you have a HDMI out port on your computer.

How is this correct!!! Both riders on the flat road, 3.9w/kg @ 16 mph 1.2w/kg @ 22 mph

how do you know when the finish line is coming up, how long you got left to ride?
@jpait9 жыл бұрын
David, the number of laps is announced before the race begins. The screen displays the number of laps completed. Just like a race in the real world, you learn the places to make a move and when you are nearing the finish. The finish is marked by a banner.

What happens when you freewheel on the trainer? Does your model just stop?
@jpait9 жыл бұрын
Felix Hemsley Yes, on my Wahoo Kickr you do freewheel. The amount you freewheel has been inconsistent as the folks at Zwift have been working on the algorithms underlying the interaction that the trainer has with the virtual world. As of recently, I've found it to be improved. Much closer to reality.

Britisher? Greece doesn't have a flag? What on earth is wrong with you?
@jpait9 жыл бұрын
At the time of this recording, Greece did not have a flag... on Zwift. Most Zwifters would know what I meant. As for Britisher... What can I say? I'm a backward American. I just hope any Brits will show me some charity. Seriously, try recording yourself in a string of consciousness and see if you never misspeak. ;-) Thanks for the critique. It makes me try harder.
