Easy weight saving - switch to a twin line set-up to the master cylinder for front brakes - on the ZX7R the bracket and splitter for the single line where it splits to twin lines to each caliper is made of pig iron and weighs about 1kg! 10 years ago when I did this, Goodrich kit was the best, but literally a twin line easy swap and pull off the big splitter unit.

Love these zx-7's! No more stable a bike and the induction sound from the twin ram air scoops is mesmerizing. I've owned 3 and sold the last one at 75,000 miles and it still pulled (pretty) hard.

Try the Zx12r crazy stable at mental speeds they are. I had both the zx7r and srad 750 and Suzuki was faster hands down. The zx7r was more planted though.

In the words of 44Teeth “bloody brilliant” (other words are available). I’m getting the sense that not only has the love for the Green Beast blossomed beyond the initial romance of the BBB but James is really getting into this too with greater enthusiasm (definitely not in a rush to get it out of his workshop). Having now seen the true state of that shock and linkage you must have a major sense of relief that you escaped upright on the circuit session against the SRAD - talking of which, I think that dodgy relationship is definitely on the rocks and no amount of relationship guidance is going to help Al. my K1 gsxr 1000 currently in bits in my garage, having a winter clean, and the fuel tank being relined after having all the rust removed, 20ltrs of white vinegar and 3 packets of baking soda later, fuel pump sorted as well having been taken apart then put back together, easy to work on my older bikes than my new ones, which are still under warranty

I love this for two reasons. One as I purchased a brand new one of these after being fortunate to watch live at Phillip Island Anthony Gobert (the go show) completely obliterate WSB in his first round. I was also racing that day in the Australian 250 production series in which Anthony had previously been Aus Champ and I had raced against him so apart from watching this from the internal pits I then bought one new (same bike as I had his). Secondly, I kept one of the 2 Suzuki RGV-250’s I raced in the 90’s and it hasn’t run in 25 years, I’ve always been planning on getting it running again as everything was drained for storage. So thank you for the inspiration and memories. 👍😎🇦🇺

My 16 y/o son just bought a brand new identical front m/cylinder, boxed c/w er, Brembo authenticity card etc for, er, 28 Quid. 4 pot boxed new Brembo caliper with cnc'd conversion bracket for his 38bhp TZR1502 stroke was a tad dearer at 30 Quid... Regards from NE Thailand....😎

If you're upset about the weight, you should've bought any generation of ZX-6r which are faster and lighter. In fact, any of the 2nd generation and beyond zx-9r models are lighter and already a lot faster. The ZX-7R is a good race platform, but needs massive modifications. Which you're finding out very slowly.

02:12 Calling bikes "her" and "she" is very popular. It's a British tradition with all vehicles . I never did it. All my bikes were an "it". For some reason she/her grates, I could never see the female in them - even the pretty ones (women are pretty- to me anyway ; some hairy arsed geezer - not so much!) - . La donna è mobile? If anything when pushed, I had an old Honda that I finally got re-started on the side of the road , and I said out loud : "Good boy!"...like you might to a pet dog. ...then there's the problem of "riding her" etc where riding is slang for...screwing...and that gets in the way of normal conversation , which when I was a motorcycle courier got old fast. Maybe that's it. Do you call your bike she, her... and good girl etc etc?

A WWII Tour is a wonderful idea. My dad and I took it upon ourselves to pay our respects and rode to Auschwitz via Nuremberg, Prague, Krakow, Warsaw and Berlin. Visiting WWII sites in along the way. Truly an amazing trip and some superb bike roads in Poland as well! If you guys would like some tips on where to go, slide into my dms. Keep up the good work. Cheers.

What were your actual brake line measurements from both front wheel nissin caliper up to your master cylinder? I have set of nissin front calipers on my 97 Zx7r bike but don't know what the precise length of braided brake lines I need to order to put on bike...

I was based at hohne garrison (adjacent to Bergen Belsen) with the British Army for 12 years and I can tell you that the stories are true, you don’t hear any birds over the Belsen death camp. Add that as a stop on your tour, I can also recommend some good prostitutes 👍

Whilst you have the swingarm out to change the pivot bearings, you could get it blasted & powder coated, just an idea, but this is best done immediately before a bearing change so you dont have a problem with blast medium in the new bearings!
