I have to offer an opposing view. I love the seats. Great on long trips, hold me in just fine for backroads and autocross. Every body is different. Definitely try them for yourself before taking anyone’s word on how good or bad the seats are. Pedal dance isn’t that bad, I memorized it by my 2nd autocross run last weekend. It is NECESSARY to enjoy driving the car hard though. Legit gripe about the lack of temp gauge. 100% Also the blue one on cars and bids sold for $56k privately a day later. Lots of folks being that up as a data point and it’s not relevant. Otherwise, it’s not a question of “worth”- to those who are in this market for a manual performance sedan, you have to go up to an M3 to get a similar experience. Looking forward to your track impressions.

Hey Zygrene, Great review! I've the Apec/Tech 6 MT in same color scheme and most of your comments translate to my every day driving experience. The omissions on the Type S vs my car don't make sense-other than attempts to reduce weight so it can match the FL5 in races. I think they should have left in the middle rear seat, the electric seat controls for passenger and rear USB ports-at least. The memory seat settings are nice if you have two drivers. I found my seat too hard for several hundred miles-but it did soften up on break-in. Now its comfortable. can adjust mine to be comfortable-longest drive was approx 3 hrs-was OK, Bolstering was OK-until I started challenging a certain rough, canyon road. :-) The S3 etc while offering RWD and more performance-also charge lots for the standard safety/driving features the Integra 6MT and Type S come with. Also better expected reliability-cost of maintenance as compared to Audi/BMW/VW... I see big price cuts on 2-3 year old Audi/BMW''s as compared to over original MSRP for FL8 Type R.... I've seen equal track performance vids of FL5 vs ITS-with PEDAL DANCE. How about a BUTTON. I hope you find a fix for lack of oil temp gauge~ Eric

My nearly 8-year-old Golf R lacks the modern displays but it does have an oil temperature readout which I depend upon heavily to gauge when the engine is sufficiently warmed up for performance driving and to make sure it has cooled sufficiently before turning off. I also monitor it driving on the highway and during hot weather (Florida). I couldn't imagine being without it. It is unconscionable for a high-performance turbo car to be without it, especially when the car exceeds $50K (my car cost $36K new).

Number one there’s no rear windshield wiper if you’re going every day, drive this, especially if you live in snowy conditions that’s a massive oversight.number two front windshield wipers when you spray only dribble water out of the blades themselves rather than dedicated nozzles on the hood and it does a poor job. Once again a heavy oversight. Finally I agree with the seat comments, and I wish they were more bolstered.

I'm not surprised that you mentioned the vague engagement of the brz clutch, which I noticed on my 2017 86. That has vastly improved the clutch takeup and ease of shifting! I also adjusted the drive by wire throttle mapping as well, which has improved low speed driving.

Regarding the seats - the CTR only has a 680 pound passengers capacity and while I’m not sure (you’d have to check the production details on the drivers door), I wouldn’t be surprised if the ITS was the same. I thought I heard somewhere that some combo of the ride height, wheels, and body structure meant it couldn’t support much weight. That’s the only reason I can think of. Makes no sense to me but I thought I saw that. I also thought I heard that there’s specific supports that don’t support a middle seat - but again… that doesn’t really make any sense as it still has a seatback. Maybe it’s a seatbelt placement issue?
@ShaiyanHossain Жыл бұрын
It was the same for the fk8 too. Ive heard someone adding in a base model fk7 rear seat for 3 people and accompanying seatbelt buti think insurance might deny you coverage if they find out you did that in the case of an accident but someone more knowledgeable than me can chime in lol
@gansan00 Жыл бұрын
Yes--it's not that easy to increase the passenger/load capacity from the original design because it leads to a hundred cascading changes. For example, suppose you want to add a 200 lbs passenger to the rear. Now with the weight the rear springs are squatting down a certain amount. Because it's starting from a lower position, the suspension geometry will now go beyond the normal expected range on large bumps and the rake is ruining the aerodynamcs. So to compensate, you make the rear springs stiffer. Now the stiff rear suspension will make the car more oversteery at the limit and it hurts ride quality. So you adjust the rear sway bar and the damper calibration and maybe also change the front to try to compensate. It works but now you still have a stiffer ride and the chassis engineers aren't happy you messed with the setup they worked for years on. All these changes cost money and suddenly the Integra is no longer saving money by inheriting from the CTR and the accountants are unhappy and want you to just drop the extra passenger.

Just picked up the twin of your car. Traded my GRC CE for it... Unbelievably better clutch/throttle/transmission for around town driving. Anyways, the seats are a pretty bigggg sore spot right now (I passed on a type R to get this, and am somewhat wondering if I made the right decision on seats alone). I'm struggling getting the right adjustment of height, tilt, lumbar, etc. I also feel the steering wheel should telescope out further. Finally, the stitching/material around the bolsters nearest to the doors, looks wrinkly and terrible - nothing like what should be in a 50k vehicle. MK8 Golf R seats are best in this class (had one before my GRC). I actually thought the grc seats were very comfortable, despite having no lumbar or power adjustments.

Sure, the car can safely run on 91, but at reduced power, and with occasional knocking and pinging. This was one of the reasons I passed on the GR86. Heated seats, HUD. BOSE sound system, Sunroof and vents in the rear for passengers (unlike the ITS). A 5th passenger seat. And memory setting for the one power seat. And of course, AWD. Throw in the fact that my CX-30 has a 250HP turbo’d engine that gets a 0-60 time about a second and a half slower than the ITS and I can’t help but feel like Honda is just taking advantage of people. Look, I know my CX-30 is not a performance vehicle. It’s not hitting any track or impressing any people. Since in the beginning of the video you made a comparison of this interior to the CT4 BW.. I have to say the seats and steering wheel are definitely better on the Blackwing, maybe even shifter too depending on how much resistance you like.. The only noticeable advantage I see that Acura has over GM interiors is they most probably use better plastic parts but that's about it. But that tablet screen in the Acura tho smh... doesn't belong in an Acura or any luxury brand how it sticks up off the dash all the way makes the interior look so cheap IMO just like every other economy car. Also all of the "tech" you mentioned (which majority of manual car drivers don't want) is available in pretty much every new car these days except for maybe the really nice the stereo system you have. In closing I am very happy the ITS exists and I would happily buy it or the Type R in the 40k range but I think anything above 45k for this is a ripoff since you are mostly paying a premium price tag due to it being a performance car first and foremost! If you're go the Camaro route and you're a track rat, its actually better to skip the 1LE package and spend that 7 grand on wheels, tires, pads, headers, intake mani, sway bars. It'll be faster than a 1LE around the track despite what the magazine racers say. For a single car weekend HPDE and daily, I'd probably go with a CT5V for $51k msrp. The ride/handling tradeoff in that car is sublime.

Yeah but Camaros are for low IQ meatheads

The entire rear seat area looks cheap like it's from a Yugo. Missing rear A/C vent and armrest. On a $50K+ luxury performance car? Also, it needs to have a sunroof. I don't know why anyone would pay more than $35K for this car? I'd pick the M2

Perforated alcantara drives me nuts. Like c’mon you were so close to luxury and then you made it look cheap af

It’s not worth 53k I would wait for 2025 model and see if they fix these issues

Talk to me when you are a father and tell me the interior is worth 51k with no rear HVAC vents and charging ports. 😂. You can tag the Type R and GR Corolla on that too. Otherwise I can agree.

I'm a pawther and my dogter doesn't mind the lack of rear HVAC and charging points. Does that count?

I have never in my life owned a car with rear HVAC and charging ports so I'm sure I wouldn't miss them. But I've also never bought a new car with a MSRP over $25,000 so that might help explain it.

With 50k I would look at something else. Just saying.

Nah, I'll keep my 8th gen Civic Si with Real V-tech:) That 3 year olds i-pad on the dash alone is atrocious. All the tech is not needed. Follow the car in front? Seriously?! Lmao 😂

Still an over priced civic lol

Did you watch the video? It’s fairly priced for all that you get over a Civic, which is itself not so cheap anymore. An Si is basically $30k now, and this is so much more than even that.
