Usually people who had these hondas were sleeping on what I owned during the late 90s - A 1993 NISSAN NX2000. I used to kill honda and integras..(really good battles though, lost some/won a lot to be honest) and I barely did any modifications. Had the NEOvvl on board though kept it stock and still would bust down civics and integras... I loved those days.. I say all this and YET my first car was a 93 Integra 4 door. That car was like the batmobile to me. I had it running on rails..

Some fun facts about this car. -H23 transmission from a 92-96 Prelude is a great upgrade. -1998 Acura CL rotor-over-hub upgrade makes changing front rotors much easier. -Prelude front suspension is a direct bolt-on. -92-96 short-shifters fit -H22 VTEC Prelude engine fits right in. -92-96 Prelude OEM wheels are a good upgrade and look like they came from the factory.

@Andres Maurer You must be new to planet Earth. Cars looks are the definition of subjective. People like what they like. And not everyone is looking for every car they own to be fast. Plus, you must be so poor you can't afford multiple cars. Must suck.

I have a 1990 cb7 LX and a lot of parts from bigger body Hondas of the same vintage are direct bolt ons. I did a 5 lug, 4 wheel disk, big brake, rear sway bar upgrade all with parts from the junk yard for $200. The parts I used from the junk yard were the rear spindle, sway bar, subframe, brake calipers from a 1995 Acura Vigor. 2000 accord v6 rear hubs, brake disks 2002 Acura TL-S front knuckles, hubs, strut rod, brake rotors, hubs. 1993 Acura Legend GS dual piston brake calipers. With some drop zone springs (used on eBay for $100) and wheels off a 2004 Acura TSX(I bought off FB market place for $200) it brought the ride, braking, and handling into the 21st century for a grand total of $500.

Aged like fine wine tbh. My favorite generation of Accord. 1990s Japanese sedans are amazing. The 3rd Generation 1989-1994 Nissan Maxima, The 1990-1993 Honda Accord CB7, 1990s Subaru Legacy, 1991-1995 Mitsubishi Diamante, 1990s Toyota Camry, Avalon, Cressida. All Great cars.

"I feel like it's more important to retain the experience that the car gives you rather than just trying to make everything fast." I love this quote from the Accord's owner. Today's cars offer impressive levels of performance along with overwhelming amounts of technology, but they will never be able to provide the same vibe and feel that older cars do. This has long been why certain people are drawn to vintage automobiles, with each era having its own unique appeal.

Over the course of the last 32 years I've owned 7 Hondas. Three 1991's, a Civic Si, CRX Si, and a CRX Hf. The others were my first Honda, a 1986 Si, a 2006 Accord V6 sedan bought new, and the two I still own, my 2012 and 2017 Accord coupe V6's. The core Hondas, the ones that really had me happy just to go out for a drive were my EF's. Such excellence. Such great feel. Just, everything. I am so glad that so many younger guys and girls know of and enjoy the excellence of Hondas from that era where heart, soul, and engineering went into all Honda CARS. My 2006 Accord was probably the last of the "right sized" sedans from Honda to be "just right". Yeah, my 12 and 17 are faster, but they definitely aren't as refined. They're PRODUCTS from Honda, sadly. It happens to the best of them, it's happening at Toyota/Lexus right now. We all end up resting on our laurels. Hopefully the houses of Honda and Toyota/Lexus have a full revival. The CTR is a blip just to prove they could do it. But no kid working at BK has a chance of owning one, where as, back in the day, a Civic Si was possible.

This guy knows what’s up. Thanks for having him on! I do miss having an older car that I have to keep up. No longer have the time to do so, but that was where I learned the most and felt the most proud of what I made. I was reminiscing about always having tools, coolant, oil, everywhere I went. I never got stranded but that’s because I kept the car up well. As life moved on I had less time for them and needed something newer to concentrate the experience on what I enjoyed most (driving). Now I just hop into the car and go...the journey has become in some ways less “exciting”, but the people I share the journey with are probably appreciative of that. There’s a time and place for everything and I am sure I will find myself in the future back under an old car, wrenching with friends, and doing rallys

My first automatic car was a burgundy 93 Accord EX. The drivers seat was incredibly comfortable and had its own armrest on the right side that folded up and down. I was 20 and it was 1999, bought it with 60k miles and felt like an absolute BALLER lol. I drove it across the country four times, solo. Sold it with 250k miles and only did front axles, brakes, tires and changed fluids at owners manual recommended intervals. People are entitled to their opinions, but it’s a scientific fact that these cars were fucking incredible!

Way back in the day my buddy had a 1993 Accord Coupe with a 5-speed manual which he let me drive all the time. This car can be best described as "the whole being greater than the sum of its parts". There was no single aspect of this car that stood out as being vastly superior to its competitors, however everything worked together in concert so well. The driving experience was so special, something almost impossible to quantify but if you drive one you will understand.

I have a 1991 Accord LX wagon, and I love it. IMO it strikes the perfect balance between practicality and drivability. Lots of room for cargo, surprisingly quick off the line, handles really well, and gets about 28mpg on the highway if you take it easy. It's a grandma car for sure, but it will surprise you if you drop it in to second and whip around some curvy back roads.

I, (18 female), recently got my first car. This car. a 1990 Honda Accord LX Automatic. Bought it from a lovely gentleman down the road who was selling it for $750. and I cannot express enough the immediate attraction I had to it, seeing it on the side of the road there looking rather pretty despite its sunken hood and a nice dent next to the driver's side door. It's in Incredible working order for the 170k miles on it and has only had problems starting on cold mornings, (or when I forget to flip the kill switch off). 10/10 would recommend to Anyone looking for a Reliable and wonderful first car.

The best of the Hondas during the pre 2K era i had a 1991 Honda Accord EX 4 dr, sedan just like the one they showed in the commercial in the beg. of the vid. mines was Black semi metallic w/clear coat and had the dual color interior black on leather dash on ivory cloth seats and head board, moon/sunroof (tinted), tinted factory windows all around, Bose sound system w/auto antanea, power windows, power door locks, power gas and trunk release, the thing i loved the most was it was equipped with automatic seatbelts, w/emergency release buttons, fog lights and the bright Halogen bulb lights with the real glass cover, cruise control, theft auto system, heated seats and mirrors also power mirrors, maintenance indicator, Engine 2.2L SOHC VTEC. Programmed fuel injected w/twin intercooler fans, 4 sp. auto. turbomatic transmission with lock up torque converter equipped with Sports mode, dual exhaust w/dual chrome tips, power assisted steering, power electronic front disc brakes, sitting on 205/60/15" all aluminum wheels, factory mud flaps w/Honda logo on them, front and rear body spoiler, double wish bone suspension, rack and pinion steering w/Mcpherson struts all around i brought it back in 1996, i smoked the windows 5% on it all around, then i put the real whole fender body chrome all around as well, i switched out the factory radio and dropped in a Kenwood receiver cd player then had the carpet box of 12" JBLs powered by a Rockford Fosgate punch 45 series amp. mated to 300 watt Pioneer equalizer Man this car was very fast 0-60 in 6.5 sec. that was very quick back then, i kepted the car for about 9 years, i dont know what i was thinking about by just letting it go downhill just because i brought a 1993 Pontiac Grandprix SE 2 coupe. Pearl white w/clearcoat and a red stripe body molding across the center of the car and it had the factory honeycomb cross hatch tinted rear brake light functional covers. but the Honda was Amazing and i just stop driving it and it went downhill the heads blew i fixed it then the engine went and i sold it like a crazed man, and now everytime i see one like it i just slumber.

In the early 90's, this was the car to have. From about 90-93, these were everywhere, even the wagon was hot. There are plenty still running around with 200-300k on them. They will rust into the ground before they stop running. A solid running EX, over 200k, one owner? You can still pay over $3k for one. The owner will not flinch. One of the best cars of all time.

I've owned one since 2007, agreed on all points. This thing is like a space ship, especially compared to everything everyone else was putting out at the time. The ergonomics are just amazing, everything comes to hand perfectly and all the switches feel so positive. The materials and design are just excellent, and the engineering that went into the suspension and the engine is just superb. The f22 is so quiet and so refined, it's a gem. Not sure what's up with his but mine is like silk from idle to redline. I wish he had an EX, the EX models offered a rear sway bar, 92/93 had ABS and rear disks, air bag, 140hp/147tq, shorter transmission gearing, retuned shocks, softer interior fabrics, adjustable lumbar, etc. My ONLY complaint with this car is the road noise, but that's every Honda pre 2014..

Seeing you guys hit some fun roads has me inspired to go do some work on my 91 cb7. It was my first car in 2001, my autocross sled, the car that drove my friends and me to the screening of the first fast and the furious, and subsequently 120mph down a local back road (with a really big downhill and long sightlines). She may have 340k miles and more than a reasonable amount of rust, but it's time to get her back on the road. These cars are fantastic and I'm happy to see them finally get some love in the car community.

I owned a 91’ LX Laurel Blue Metallic F22 with an H23 trans swap. And let me tell you, I absolutely loved the shit out of that Accord and everything about it. Always loved it when every time I popped the hood I saw the “PGMFI” placard stamped on the fuel rail. So bad ass. Along with also admiring it’s sharp and perfectly symmetrical square body shape. The space practicality and visibility from the drivers side. And can we talk about the hood and it’s perfectly sharp contoured lines? Perfection. It was so much fun and just so easy silky smooth to drive anywhere. Always just felt so connected to the car and the road at all times. Drove it hard everyday but yet at the same time I did so with great care. I took pride in pampering my Laurel and doing all maintenance, work, and detailing myself on a regular schedule. And all I can say is “baby blue” never let me down through out any kind of weather from any season. I’d made countless memories and had incredibly fun moments with my CB7. So when he said “it’s tugging on my heartstring..it’s like real love.. you can feel it” yes sounds cheesy and it is lol but that statement hits really hard and I understood it completely. It’s simply something you won’t feel.. not until you get behind the wheel in one of these. The CB7 chassis and the feeling it gives its driver truly makes it a one of a kind Honda legend. It just always provides unlimited Smiles for Miles!

You know whats funny? Since people don't care about these just like other jdm cars, you can import a 1993 2.0si for as low as 9k with super low mileage and really clean. People need to stay sleeping on these so we can get em cheaper lol. I love my current 1991 LX, I had to swap an F23A in there since my F22A got hurt, runs like a dream, did oem suspension refresh, my interior is super clean (maroon just like this one on video, but I got the OEM maroon leather inserts that were optional back then) and will soon re-spray it on its original seattle silver color, but color matching the black moldings, much like an SE or 10th anniversary look. I facelifted my front and rear ends though, I prefer the 92-93 look over 90-91, I got the best of both worlds, the cool auto seat belts, no air bags (my cb7 steering wheel is leather as well), and internal coil distributor, which made my swap easier. I loved these things ever since I grew up riding in my dads 90 LX white to blue interior, I still lowkey prefer that combination over the one I have, but I'm too deep into mine for me to give up and start from scratch unless I find a really clean shell for really cheap and I transfer everything over. These cars are timeless, very few understand.

I love how this generation of car has just as much room inside as new cars, and yet is way smaller and lighter on the outside. It really goes to show how bulky modern cars have become. So much more wheel and body mass on new vehicles, and all to no advantage to the driver who still has the same cabin space. These things were like tin cans but that's what made them so good. So light weight and simple and perfectly made. This and the next generation were some of the best cars made of all time. Just enough computers and technology to make a good car, not too much to get in the way, no ugly nav system and gaudy fake plastic chrome and wood everywhere. Not trying too hard to be aggressive and have big rims. Just sleek and simple and light and responsive, nothing extra. Modern cars are just so much bigger and heavier and uglier and too complicated with too many computers and sensors to fail.

@@ronde1135 that's a real good question? Most of the people and companies are still around but people don't know seem to care anymore about legends. I was talking to a guy today who is building stuff with Bob Norwood. Freaking Bob Norwood. People have no idea that UGR and Sheepey wouldn't be here if Bob wasn't crazy enough to throw turbos on every 1980s Ferrari. Hartmut from renntech is responsible for the W124 AMG Hammer. Most important is Mr. Alois Ruf. These people are Tuner car GODS. I almost had cardiac arrest when that guy said Mr Norwood was helping him twin turbo a 512 tr or might be testarossa but they are building this thing as we speak. I was blown away. I had an unbelievable conversation with him. It is something that made me realize this socal media era is fine, but everyone should consider sharing their resources to honor and also make sure that future generations are the only reason you can buy or build the most radical car you can imagine because they spent decades of trail and error

Our family bought this for me 4 yrs ago from the elderly couple next door at 77k miles, which is low for how old the car is. The paint was pretty wrecked. I agree on visibility, you can see everything. The only negative is the road noise is a little high. Though good luck replacing the front rotors if it still has the original setup, holy moly

I’m not as technical as you guys, but I have a love for cars of this era. Visually, this Accord’s proportions are nearly perfect- the contemporaneous 4-door Integra and Vigor may even reach perfection. It did however look a bit too bland compared with the previous generation 86-89 Accord (the squared-off one with pop-up headlights) in my opinion. My preference for 4 doors and Honda’s lack of a true performance variant had me in the Mazda 626 camp. I owned a stripper ‘84 626 DX automatic, a loaded ‘87 626 GT turbo 5-sp manual 4-dr, a ‘93 626 ES V6 manual, and last, a Mazda 6S V6 manual before jumping to a BMW E46 ZHP, which I continue to drive now (only 72k miles yo!). The 88-89 Accord SE-i used to catch my eye, but then I drove one. Perhaps my expectations were out of line due to its sporty looks, but compared to the 626 turbo I owned at the time it was disappointingly ordinary.

@@BeefyMon I think the 323 GT was competing with the Galant GTX while the 323 GTX was for rally racing like the Galant VR-4 and Celica All-Trac. By the way, did your 626 GT have 4WS like the Prelude of that era? Mazda had some crazy vehicles back then; MX3, MX6, 929, Millenia. the 2006 Mazdaspeed 6 with turbo AWD.

@@lordmaster5522 the 323 was much smaller than the Galant- I doubt they were in competition with each other. The Mits Mirage was probably more in line with the 323. Regarding my 626 GT, it was one year before the 88 626 4WS, but it did have a form of passive 4WS called “Twin Trapezoidal Link”, and all the other 80s tricks- automatic adjusting suspension, headlight washers, 4-wheel disc brakes, variable rate steering, 11 way adjustable seats, bronze tinted glass windows, 10 band graphic equalizer… all the cool shit.

IMO the next gen was the best accord. The 5th gen accord from 1994-97 went alittle more bubbled, vtec was introduced into the lineup, and it still had a coupe, sedan, and wagon variant. Also outside the US you could get a SiR variant with a factory H22a installed!!

IMO the CD accord also got a little cheaper in materials. My CB7 feels like it’s made of better materials and has more padding in places compared to my CD7. I also like the rear vent windows on my CB7 coupe. They were lost on the CD7. CB seems like a better built vehicle overall compared to the CD.

I own both generations and have had a 98-02 gen as well. The CB has way better interior AND EXTERIOR materials and general design, but the CD has a more modern and integrated arm rest/console area which I really appreciated more than the CB's. Also the CD seems to ride a little softer even though all the suspension parts are totally interchangeable. I have the EX CD with vtec but vtec isn't performance vtec and it hardly adds anything noticeable, at least to me. The CD has WAY better steering in my opinion, it's much heavier and German feelings whereas the CB's is super light. But the CB quality is bar none better.. exterior door handles are solid metal as opposed to plastic. Headlights never ever fade due to being made of actual glass not plastic, etc.
