Why do u cast the ball

Sometimes there’s people in the way so the ball is much safer than a lead sinker. Also sometimes I want to practice on form and not distance. The ball allows you to reel in your cast as to where the lead most of the time gets buried in the ground making me walk out to retrieve every cast. Get more cast in a day using ball
