alot of making medicine better at helping people live quality lives i can think of some very practical methods. first. make healthcare acrossed the whole world. especially the united states affordable. ie: not a profit driven industry. it should be a basic human right. this will also make the cure a more viable research option instead of just treatment being the only financially viable option. doing that will result in better medicine that has less in the way of side effects and are more effective at treating the illness or even curing it. doing that will help people live quality lives. another thing is to actually train doctors better. teach them to be less arrogant. teach them to actually know the female body ((im a guy saying this)) like they know the male body. and have doctors stop lying. no more "you gonna feel some pressure" or "its just gonna be a pinch" thats not helpful. its a dick move. and ya know maybe have doctors that actually have at least a half way decent bedside manner.

When I swivel in my office desk chair, I feel a huge activation primarily in the quads/flexors going at a very slow speed and then pain near my abdomen/obliques. Is this because the wrong muscles are being activated?
@TheDoctorsofPT8 ай бұрын
Hi Richard, Yes when you do this the trick is to get your quads and anything on the TOP of your leg to relax. That's most of the battle here, I recommend starting with VERY small motions and trying to localize the sensation to the back of the hip.

I always found it funny when Chiropractors who make shorts would have people come in who had already had adjustments before and are now back for the same reason. Like if you get a bad back from bad posture, get it re-adjusted only for you to have that same bad posture and the cycle continues. It would be a good idea for them to tell their patients what the correct way to go about afterwards but then they wouldn’t have many people coming back.
@TheDoctorsofPT9 ай бұрын
Definitely! There are some great chiropractors who actually won't adjust someone if they don't need it, but there's a lot of "crack mills!"
@mothergoose938310 ай бұрын
Plus, chiropractic is snake oil. They never fix anything. It's just like a massage; temporary relief. They get you to come back and create a revenue stream from suckers. If they cured you, they wouldn't get to keep taking your money.
@TheDoctorsofPT9 ай бұрын
There are some good ones who don't operate this way, but generally this is the sentiment. It's unfortunate because adjustments can be a great tool but should be reinforced with good movement.

Hi Dr P, I've watched all your videos but haven't seen an answer to how to find or what kind of doctor to look for to help me find and fix the root cause of the arthritis in my right thumb. I've had a dull ache in that joint for years but over the past month it has gotten to the point where it is very painful to pickup a glass of water with my right hand. I lived in Scottsdale for 18 years but move to North Carolina a few years ago and now live on the coast in SE North Carolina. And suggestions on how to find a doctor would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
@TheDoctorsofPT9 ай бұрын
Hi @greggdrennan, hand arthritis can be difficult. Here are the things I always consider and what your doctor should bring up: 1. How is the shoulder functioning? Usually if the shoulder is weak, it will cause over-gripping and worsen the arthritis in your hand. 2. Are the muscles in the forearm tight or weak? Then you get to the hand. If you have severe cartilage loss that is admittedly hard to get ahead of. The best thing we've found for these types of arthritis is called an EMTT machine. This machine reduces the inflammation in the joints and allows some time to heal.

After suffering from low back pain for about 15 years I found The Doctors of Physical Therapy in Scottsdale 2 years ago. Dr. Tom and his team evaluated me and determined the cause to be a lack of mobility in my hips. After a few weeks of PT my hips improved dramatically and my low back pain is gone. I now can play golf and do yard work with no pain. Previous to finding the TDofPT I had seen chiropractors, doctors and other physical therapists none of which determined the root cause was the lack of mobility in my hips.

Misleading statements will not help. No more than hiding in the corn crib. A better discussion would be, our bodies will fail. We will die. Just because your friend jumps off the cliff, you don’t have to. There a lot of ways to fail. Practice choosing how to succeed.

Hi Hayden, not certain which muscles you feel during godess pose but these ones should be felt near where your hamstrings attach, but just a little more towards the side of your hip!

So this was for RT anterior only so hip hike is hiking left side. How would U assess whether a person can even tell themselves if they need to do RT or LFT side. It matters bc of the bar placement was under rt leg. Would u suggest doing both sides if u don't know which side of ur pelvis is the problem?

@@imoldgregg8571 I didn’t stay with it and forgot about this exercise. I have been doing traditional hamstring stretches for the last 2 months though. I notice a tiny bit of improvement but not as much as I’d like. They get tight again shortly after stretching. I will start doing this exercise again so thank you for reminding me of it.

How many reps and sets of reps should I do on each side? And how many times a day and how many days a week? Do it slowly or quickly? Also, am I doing it correctly if: I feel it on my hip socket and hamstrings? And how do you maintain the strength? Like should I eat a lot of protein after doing it? If I touch my pelvis I can feel the exterior muscles tensing, is this right? Is there anything I should avoid doing while I’m doing them? Sorry for all the questions, Thanks.
@TheDoctorsofPT2 жыл бұрын
Hi Kiann, sorry for the late reply. Sets and reps depend on phase of strengthening. When just learning, a couple times a day for 2x15. Then transition after a few weeks to every other day with resistance for sets of 3x15. You should always get good protein intake to help build the muscle. You should mainly feel this underneath the bone of your hip, near where your hamstrings attach. Hope this helps!
