Loved that, being an arty farty! My art teacher at school was Peter Owen Jones who was a member of the guild. He always had a painting on the go in the studio...you can google and see some of his beautiful work. More of the artists fine work please!

What a delightfully leftfield edition. Thanks so much Will. That first 'grubby gala' a few years back certainly set a precedent. "Manston" looks pretty much as I remember the Bulleid pacifics at Waterloo in the dying years of BR(S) steam. I trust total authenticity won't extend to carriage windows!! 🙂

I was going to mention that Manston needs a bit of a wash and brush-up. Personally, I like authenticity, but grubby is too far. But...Not my circus, not my monkeys. Cheers, mate

David Shepherd spoke about shed visits during the last couple of years of BR steam. One painting he went over was of a Maunsell mogul at (IIRC) Guildford MPD, shortly before it closed. From that I'd reckon you're right about it making for a fascinating clip... or more likely, series of clips, if following a painting's evolution from initial sketches to it's first exhibition (thinking about display conditions there). There are elephants and chimps out there who are far better artists than me though!
